The North American DVD release date of the 13th Pokémon movie, Zoroark:Master of Illusions has been revealed to be September 20th of this year, via a WBShop listing for the title. Whether there will be special editions containing a Celebi TCG card, or an eventual Blu-Ray release, as in the UK and Australian releases, is as of yet unknown.

I'm sure many fans would appreciate the Bluray release as well, considering how Pokemon finally went HD after 500 episodes or so.
1 – Cat333PokémonAll DVDs are encoded in 720x480, even the widescreen ones. They're just stretched to fill the frame based on the aspect ratio encoded on the disc. Blu-rays, on the other hand, are (typically) encoded at 1920x1080 but can be encoded at lower resolutions to accomodate different aspect ratios.
Also, "anime" is just the Japanese word for "animation" or "cartoon." Referring to Pokémon as a cartoon is just as acceptable.
Although I thought this movie was great, I'm going to skip the DVD mainly because, barring a few exceptions, I'm not the type of person who can watch the same movie more than once and not get bored with it.

Mario does have one official title on the PSP. The keyword there is "title," as it isn't a game. The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released on UMD format.
If UMD would have caught on, I wouldn't doubt eventually seeing any of the Pokémon movies in the format, especially with companies like Universal and Warner publishing some of the recent ones.
