and, most importantly, GAMEPLAY!

Sonic Generations! The next Sonic game! A lot of info was reavled today, so let's "boost" right into it!

First up- Gameplay! The gameplay will be a mix of 2D and 3D. 2D will mainly be in Classic Sonic's levels, but will also be in Modern Sonic's levels, along with 3D. The mix of the batch, though, is unconfirmed.(Considiring Unleashed and Colors)

Next- Voices and Writers! According to TSSZ News, some of the wirters for Sonic Colors(AKA the wirters of Madworld and HappyTreeFriends) will be back on for Generations. This coinfrms a story -OF SORTS. The voices of the past two games will return, however, Classic Sonic's voice is unconfirmed- but it is speculated to be Tom Coles(I think that's his name).

Screenshots are here.

Also, at 11, it seems there will be THREE eras of Generations- Dreamcast, Modern, and Classic.

If I get an Xbox 360, I'm totally getting this game. This looks pretty awesome.

It does ,but I plan on making a list of 360 games before getting ahead of yourself. (I don't have a 360 ,but I have enough money by the end of school to get one and possibly get 2-3 games on it)

Anyways, this looks epic. I don't care for old Sonic, just modern Sonic.

I actually have a mental list of three or four games I want for the 360 (I'm planning on either getting it on Christmas or earning money and getting it by/after Christmas). I wouldn't get a whole new console and have no idea what to buy. Although I should scribble down the games I want and look a little more into it. [/offtopic]

On topic, I agree with you that the modern Sonic stages look very awesome. Although the classic Sonic stages seem to be revamped nicely as well.

EDIT: Actually, reading Ningamer's post and looking at the gameplay video I have to agree with him that the classic stages look a bit straightforward. Hopefully this is only because that's just the first level.

The modern parts look like fun, they're very fast and they look exciting. However the classic gameplay in that trailer has me disappointed - One of the things that made the classic sonic games great was that there were loads of different paths in the levels, parts where the level splits into three or so parts. I'm not really seeing this here, there were maybe one or two parts where the level split off but not nearly as much as even Sonic Advance 2.

Yeah, old Sonic needs a bit more and putting in classic and modern together if weird considering Sonic has never done some as freak muntantion. (not in a bad way) This is something I'll get.....when I can pay for Xbox Live....
