Are there any games that you like but sadly are also enjoyed by only you out of all of your peers? Any gems out there that you think 90% of all gamers have never even heard of?

My favorite game of all time is Descent 3. It's a dizzying 3D PC FPS from 1999 where you are in a flying ship (rather than being some dude running around the ground) and you have six degrees of freedom and can fly and turn in any direction. The gameplay is absolutely sick, multiplayer is awesome, and the graphics are kickass for its time (although consumers lacking the system requirements at the time was a real setback). If anyone is familiar with the Descent series, I'd be real happy. I'm super duper hyped for Descent Wiiware expected later this year.

Every now and then I break out my DS and play the first Code: Lyoko game. I've always been a fan of the series, so it's fun to play it. Unlike the Wii version and the second, sucktastic game, the first one is engaging and has a good storyline that details Seasons 1 and 2.

Unfortunately, I seem to be one of the few fans of the show in my school, so naturally not many others have played it.

Yes. Because yes.

I'm one of the few people out of my group of friends that plays Metroid, and it's the same here. I don't know why. It's a really awesome series.

I myself like the original fallout game for the PC, the story is dynamic and the ability to do whatever you want makes it a great game, but i can't seem to find anybody who shares the same passion for it as i do. Another game that I like that not alot of people play is The Harvest Moon Series its a great "Break" game as i like to say, meaning like.....say you play Halo or something and it gets kinda boring so you take a break from it or games like that but overall the games are fun i like the fact that you can start a family in them.

I've brought this up multiple times on the forums...

Ultima Underworld: The Stygian Abyss
And it's sequel:
Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds

They're first-person RPG-like games with a medieval and mythical theme, in which you fight lots of different enemies, solve puzzles and win. I HIGHLY suggest you check them out. (By the way, they're now Abandonware)

I know a couple of people here who played that. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor just came out, it's great. It somehow fixed a lot of problems compared to the first game although I wish there was a guide like in Super Mario Galaxy 2 or New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Even on Easy it's not easy. I feel bad that not a lot of people (besides Lite and me) know.

I believe I'm the only person in my County that has ever played Nostalgia. It's an RPG for the DS that's a lot like Final Fantasy, only more airships, no chocobos, and you play in the real world. Like, the Earth. And the plot revolves around lots of real national monuments and myths like Easter Island, Roman Mythology, Nirvana Palace, the Pyramid of Giza (the real one not the inflatable decoy) oh, and Asgard. But no Thor...

Spongebob: Battle for Bikini Bottom was one of the first console games I ever played, and honestly, I loved it. I'm not sure if I'd still enjoy it as much (I played it when I was 11-13), but thinking about that game brings back some good memories.

Most people don't play the Legend of Zelda series though, IT IS NOT OVERRATED!! those classical RPGs really keep you occupied for about.....30-40 hours; give or take a few.

lol, but Zelda from what I see, is more popular then Metroid and that's saying something. Zelda games are some of the most popular, the only thing that keeps them away is either because they have other games to play right now (like me) or they are too much of a wuss to handle and beat a entire Zelda game.

^, except I think Monkey Island isn't popular. I guess I should name another franchise. Hmm.... Okay. Stars Wars BattleFront 2, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Crash: Twin Sanity, or Burnout. That's the most obscure I can say.

Burnout isn't THAT obscure, but it's better than the other ones.

Now then, here's a good model: If your game is in a franchise that appears on this list, it isn't obscure.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ame_franchises

Also, no recent stand-alones with lots of Fan-fare, like Spore, or Scribblenauts.

So, actually, by my logic, Monkey Island IS an obscure game, as is Shining Soul and Ace Attorney.

I know that Valve and most of their works are very popular in mainstream media, but I am amazed at the number of people my age who have never even heard of Half-Life or it's sequel.

Also, I once owned a game for the PC called Shining Soul II, but it seems to be a different game than the one for the GBA (or perhaps I'm simply recalling the name wrong). Whateverteh case, the game was a lot of fun, and I'm rather unhappy that I can't find it anymore.

Also, although the Bomberman series is pretty well known there is one game for the PC called Atomic Bomberman that a lot of people don't seem to know. It's basic Bomberman action, but the characters actually shout the most absurd taunts at each other. It was hilarious.

I'm also a fan of the Myst series.

I just picked up these two new games called Lux-PaIn and Monster Rancher DS. Lux-PaIn is kind of like Ace Attorney In the sense of Gameplay, but you play as this Secret Detective Person named Atsuki Saijo who uses a special ability called Sigma to read people's thoughts and Emotions in forms called Shinen. I'm stuck on this one part where you have to find this Girl in a certain amount of time.

It seems as if I'm the only one on the internet with Exitebots.

It's a racing game, but it's not your typical Kart, car, or plane driving. You race in a bot around some real-world courses, such as those themed in Canada, Fiji, ect. There are also these "?" switches that, when driven into, they can do stuff like changing the terrain to create a huge jump, make items appear, and if you grab a wrench (The bot has an arm it can use to grab items) your bot transforms so it gains legs. You're pretty much invincible, faster, and you send others flying when you kick them.

And the twist is that it's not all about getting 1st place. You have to gain stars by doing various tricks, etc. to win.

I feel like I've explained half the game, but it looks pretty rushed...

Kings Quest, Torin's Passage, Shivers, Gabriel Knight, Laura Bow... That kind of stuff. lol. Actually, I don't really play them anymore, but I used to a lot as a kid. I don't think I have ever spoken to a single person in my life who has any kind of idea what those games even are.

Evil Genius, It was a fun game for a bit, but it got boring fast. So I modded it so that I'd be allowed to have 1,000 Minions instead of 100...oh man the chaos I caused.

For me it's Chibi Robo Park Patrol. It hasn't been released in the UK, but I imported it since I wanted to play a Chibi Robo game, having not played the Gamecube Chibi Robo game. I like it, it's a nice little charming game (:

You're the only one on the Internet with it. I want it, but I haven't been bothered to get it.

I know someone (specifically my boyfriend) who beat Star Fox 64 with his FEET. No hands at all. I witnessed him doing this, as did his younger siblings. Not a very high score, but I've never heard of anyone else doing that. He tried it while on the phone with me twice before then, but only when I was there did he succeed.

Cave Story has a huge modding fan-base. I was a member of their forums, but since I haven't done anything productive there (meaning modding or spriting), I left them. I wonder what happened there in this one (or two) years...

Red Orchestra. Basically it's a WWII game based mainly around the Eastern Front.(Soviet Front)
I like it because it's one of those games where you don't know your ammo count, Health or enemy location. It tries to go full out realistic so it is challenging.

You asked if I owned it. I've played it. And a hell of a lot of people have played it too. It's just that we're on a Pokemon forum, not a RareWare forum. :V

On the other hand, I haven't gotten many people here to play Metroid. And if I have they're not a Metroid devotee yet. >:I

Don't think anyone here played the Clover Studio/PlatinumGames + Capcom games either. Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and MadWorld are awesome.

A videogame on everyone's favorite Disney hero with Mario platforming= $$$

Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, yeah pretty unpopular. I've seen that it is the least talked about Sonic game of the decade. So, yeah.

Technically this is what I play, but it's Sonic Riders (For Gamecube) instead. For some reason the controls may seem a bit odd at first, but it's not that bad once you get used to them, really (This is the main reason Sonic Riders games get pretty low ratings, isn't it?).

IDK a title I was just guessing...*looks through a library of popular games to find one obscure one*

I think Star Wars Rouge Squadron and Fire Emblem: Path of Raidience are pretty obscure in their own ways.

And Lite, what the hell were you on to think Viewtiful Joe and Okami were games no one played? They wouldn't be characters in Marvel vs Capcom 3 if they weren't popular...:/

Because Okami is the one Clover Studio game that got any press? And because it and MadWorld are the only two to have been released on a next-gen console? The only reason they're in MvC3 is because they're Capcom properties that aren't Street Fighter or Mega Man. :I

I agree that Rogue Squadron is an overlooked dogfighter (people drift to StarFox over it) but Fire Emblem as a franchise is by no means obscure- it's one of Nintendo's core RPG franchises.

I've started playing a relatively new indie game called Magicka, which sees you as a wizard creating spells and clearing levels with a unique spell-casting system with hundreds of spell combinations (ARSE mines, anyone?). While it's not a really obscure game, not many people here play it, and if you don't play it go grab it from Steam; it's only £8!
