The english names for Ash's new travel companions in Unova and leaders of the Sanyou City and Souryuu City gyms have been revealed

Dent's name is now Cilan which is most likely short for Cilantro.

While Iris is now confirmed to be keeping her Japanese name, being the first of Ash's partners to keep it.

Cilan sounds a little unusual to me, but Iris is alright.

Great they kept Iris's name, but I like Cilantro better than Cilan. (I hope Corn doesn't keep his Japanese name...)

Having someone named Corn would be one of the greatest things for the Pokemon franchise ever.

Iris and Cilantro both sound a-ok to me, and I don't think people will make much of a fuss over them!

Cilan... strange. I'll probably call him Cilantro
Iris is keeping her Japanese name, and thats good!

"Cilan" seems to fit Dent fairly well, assuming they give him a voice equivalent to his Japanese one. And I'm really glad they're being sensible and keeping Iris (which I expected since it's not Japanese). Best to preserve anything of the original they can (speaking of preserving originals, they MUST bring the original voice actors back)

You know that's never gonna happen :/
(also I think the voice actor for Meowth died)

I like the name Cilan for Dent. Since it seems to be a short version of Cilantro, you just gotta wonder if Cilanto is his full name and Cilan is just a nickname.. That would be kinda cute. I wonder what his brothers will be named?

Cilan...hmm...it'll do. As for Iris, it's good they're keeping the old names. :3

Cilan is very hard for me to say.

Though as an Iris fangirl, I'm thrilled to hear that she kept her name.

I like Cilian better than Cilantro. Cilantro makes the character sound like a spice.

They're pretty nice names. I might even get used to them! MAYBE not...

I'm glad that Iris kept her Japanese name. Cilan/Dent, on the other hand, I found unexpected. I wanted him to keep his Japanese name.

His name sounds like an Italian name. It is good, nevertheless.

They both work actually... *wonders about Iris* I have my suspicions about Iris though, let's see if they become correct.

I don't mind the name Cilan and I glad they kept Iris the same as the original unless they change the names again.

I'm happy that Iris kept her name, but Cilan? It'll be a little hard to pronounce, but I'm okay with it. And for a guy who's complained about just about every change between the Japanese and English copies (in the events that the names were actually good... like Tepig from Pokabu? WTF), my satisfaction surprises even me.
