After using Google Chrome for about 15 months, I have, alas, switched back to Firefox as my default on Linux (though it remains my primary browser on Windows). Why? Here's a list!
1 – Jaredvcxz1. I know
2. I can be running several programs at once including Chrome and only use around 12%.
3. I've personally found Firefox to be fairly slow, actually.
4. No comment.
5. I agree, Chrome's HTML5 support hasn't exactly worked the best for me =/
6. I don't use Linux
7. TBH I'm not entirely sure what favorite sync is
8. I don't have to translate pages very often.
9. I prefer Chrome on Aero
10. I don't care for browser extensions.
11. See above
12. Once I found a site that would freeze Firefox without failure, worked fine on all other browsers
13. My laptop isn't even set up to the printer.
14. I don't really care for browser sources
15. You can always disable Flash

Chrome is a horrible RAM hog.
Agreed Chrome is a horrible CPU hog. Above Chrome is only fast at Javascript: when it comes to doing everything else, it can be quite slow (whereas Firefox excels). Everything else? Firefox has better GPU-acceleration for CANVAS on Linux (and Windows for that matter). ...do what now? Firefox has shown greater support for HTML5 repeatedly. Might want to come back in 5-9 years when it might actually have more widespread use. Firefox has WebGL working on Linux. Don't use it. Except when I made this post it was from a derivative of Linux, soo... Google Chrome's favourite sync is very insecure, where as Firefox's is very secure. No idea what that is. Firefox has better translation support. Works fine for me. Firefox has better theming. Opinion based. Firefox has Firebug. Not everyone is a web developer. Firefox has VideoDownloadHelper. Try Google- many software and sites similar to this. Firefox is more stable on the whole. It feels exactly like IE. Firefox is much better at printing web pages. Possibly. Of course I copy my important info into a text document. Firefox is completely opensource. The majority of computer users aren't web developers the last time I checked. Firefox didn't mother****ing package Flash with the browser download. I find this as a convenience rather then a nuisance. That said, I am missing a lot of features from Chrome... |
