Earlier today, I was trying to look at TVTropes, and when I tried to open a new tab, it started to shut IE. (Yes, I still use IE. Yes, it's IE8. No, I don't care about your opinions on that.) I re-opened it, did the same thing, and it happened again. I re-opened the program again, but this time, it broke the software.

So I did the classic Windows debug, restarting, and I re-opened the browser. It happened again. I then attempted to boot up IE without add-ons, which, for some reason, worked. Then, I realized that I couldn't use Flash, which gave me an idea. I decided to fool with the add-ons that should be activated when I boot up IE from then on. After an extremely glitched period of time, it turned out to be something that I never used or liked that broke the browser.

Yahoo! Toolbar.

I had a nice lol at that.

I read somewhere that Yahoo has infinite storage space for documents and what-not which made me respect it a little bit more, but Internet Explorer and Yahoo is still a bad combination. XD

The great thing about Chrome: it has no support for the Yahoo! Toolbar that you don't want.

So that must be the reason my old computer couldn't use Flash.

I've never liked Yahoo!, nor have I ever liked Internet Explorer.

Nor have I ever installed a single toolbar on any browser I've ever had.

Chrome, dawg

Firefox is also wonderful. You can get rid of all evidence of those pesky toolbars in 5 minutes while fooling around in about:config.

This is why IE is horrible, you can't do that. All my PCs have IE6 or 7, which is NEVER used. Or optimized for.

Yes you can

You go to Manage Add-Ons and disable the toolbars

In 5 seconds

Yes, but the word here is disable. It's hard to remove any of these toolbars and all trafficking they do on you, it's in more than just the toolbar.

ICQ gave me a toolbar. In about:config, I found over 20 things that ICQ installed. Most were ads that it placed to make money or trafficking for optimized ads. The toolbar is the easy part, the 20 other things that they install in your browser is the hard part.

I should install the WinAMP toolbar to see what it does.

This. Also, it's a widespread bug- Yahoo + IE = nope. Consider disabling it.
