This has happened before in previous games, so I am not really surprised about it.

It's called art evolution. Everyone gets their colors changed slightly.

I really don't like the colour the originally had, it's quite ugly. No wonder they changed it.

Except obviously the newer generations because they only have one or two sprites and they were made with the same colours. *Shot for being technical*

I remember reading about such changes somewhere on Serebii, but I'm not sure exactly where. Something about Ditto's sprite was mentioned too, but I never bothered to find out what was different about it.

These new colors are much better. xD The sprite itself even looks more sharp.

Koffing's skull used to be above it's face. Now it's below. (That's was in R/B/Y, not B/W)

Its not really much of a big difference, really. I can live with it.

I didn't really like the old colors. But if you want to get technical, these "new" ones are much closer to the colors in Ken Sugimori's Lileep artwork from R/S/E.

Take a look at Feraligatr, though, as a perfect example of coloring problem. In G/S, it was dark green. It was corrected in Crystal, however. I personally liked it better green, though.

EDIT: Hold on there, Twistedspoon, Weepinbell and Omastar have always been their current colors. :/
