Since, I see that LoPun (I was looking through forums) made an "Overrated video games" list. I thought I can do the opposite. It only makes sense.

Personally, Sin & Punishment, and F-Zero.

Really I find only Sin & Punishment and maybe F-Zero the only under rated games on that list. Considering how many people know about Sonic and Zelda. Maybe thats just me.
Also, Lite's opinion is as good as anyone else's.

My list since we're Sharing...
Beat Hazard
Killing Floor

Thats really all I got.

Errr...you obviously don't know what underrated means. Underrated means that like, nobody plays it and you and just a niche group of people know how awesome it is, and it deserves more recognition of magnitude of...say a Mario game, etc.
Zelda and Sonic do not fall under those categories.
Cave Story is nearing towards the public eye more, I guess i'd only say S&P and F-Zero are the only ones that are underrated on your list.

Uh...I guess i'd say...Rhythm Heaven...and...that's all I can think of ATM.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Psychonauts, even though i've only played the demo of it.

Personally, Zelda,

Oh, yeah, because Nintendo's one cash cow apart from Pokemon is totally underrated and no one plays it, right?

Cave Story,

It's an independent video game. It's underrated because it has zero press. Popularity of the game was 90% spread by word of mouth.

Sin & Punishment,

Of course it's underrated. Probably because there were only TWO GAMES IN THW WHOLE FRANCHISE. And no one in the US had even PLAYED the first one until it came out for VC like two years ago.

F-Zero,

Again, hardly anyone has played F-ZERO, due to the fact that Nintendo's racing franchise at the moment is Mario Kart. F-ZERO also hasn't had any new games developed recently, so that's another reason it doesn't has as much popularity as you'd think.

and the ENTIRE Sonic franchise.

...No. Sonic is the one franchise SEGA actually has that still exists. (I understand there's been other franchises that have been revived, like NiGHTS, and Super Monkey Ball, but hardly anyone remembers NiGHTS unless they grew up with the Genesis and SMB has currently had a lot of failures.) There's obviously a lot of fans behind it.

I will say my reasons later. (Lite, DON'T REPLY TO THIS COMMENT FOR THE LOVE OF ARCEUS DON'T!)

for the record, Fubab and Jad said basically everything I was about to say, so, protip- don't post something if you expect someone to prove you wrong

Let me go Phoenix Wright up your rear end, Lite.

So, Cave Story had 1, and it sold well. As same for other computer games. Also, may I suggest you take grammer class. It's "THE" not "THW"

Also, I thank Fubab and JAD. Unlike Lite, who just comes out of nowhere on me and try their hardest to flame me. (Seriously, dude)

So, *looks through games* I can safely say the WarioWare games. They are fun party games that are again ruled over by Mario Party. Same how F-Zero is ruled by Mario Kart. Happy, Lite?
I also agree with JAD that Rythm Heaven as well is underrated.

Oh god.

Because despite the fact that it got no press, the press it got was good. Therefore, more people saw the good reviews and more people purchased it (whether it be through Steam or WiiWare or whatever) The same could be said for World of Goo.

As same for other computer games. Also, may I suggest you take grammer class. It's "THE" not "THW"

Oh, woe is me. I made a simple typo due to the placement of the W and E keys being right next to each other. I do not know how I will be able to live. Farewell, cruel world! *suicides*

I'm not flaming you, I'm making rebuttals to your arguments. Jad and Fubab (Jad in particular) basically said the exact same thing I did, without analyzing every part of your statement.

So, *looks through games* I can safely say the WarioWare games. They are fun party games that are again ruled over by Mario Party.

Same how F-Zero is ruled by Mario Kart. Happy, Lite?

No, it's not really the same at all. The Mario Party games are just a much longer running series of games. F-ZERO is just currently being completely neglected by Nintendo.

I also agree with JAD that Rythm Heaven as well is underrated.

I agree with Jad here too, but there's reasons for most games to be underrated- Rhythm Heaven Tengoku is a much bigger series in Japan than it is in the US.

For future notice, there's a large difference between replying and pointing out when something is wrong, and flaming. Trust me. I'm an assist admin.
As an actual contributory post, I'd recommend Golden Sun as an incredibly well-made RPG series that's been overshadowed by Final Fantasy and other JRPGs.. It consists of two GBA games and a new DS release. I'd highly suggest getting the GBA games first though- the DS game has a relatively low learning curve and difficulty so as to introduce newer players, and your party starts out a bit overpowered.

Under-rated can be hard to define, but I do think Professor Layton deserves much more appeal - the games are as fun as riding a frozen-over roller-coaster through heck and back.

I gotta say the Need for Speed Underground subseries is quite underrated. The two games got their fame around the time that they were released, but they're still fun as hell to play, and no one's ever really heard of them.

I think james bond night fire for ps2 is really underated ok it doesnt have the best campain ever but it multiplayer is really something to checkout.

It has AI bots, why does no game have AI bots anymore D: sometimes its really fun to destroy an AI instead of your friends, and theres plenty of weapons to choose from and some very well made multiplayer maps.

Thats just my opinion though.

Tokobots on the Psp. while flawed, it's a enjoyable little puzzle/platformer that didn't get the popularity it should've got

Exitebots. If you want an awsome, fast-paced racing game, this is right for you. The twist is, this isn't your ordinary get-first-place racing game, you have to get the most points by doing lots of tricks, thus you could possibly be last and still win. (You get bonus points based on your standing, though.) Plus you can use a Wii Wheel with this game. And did I mention you race with robots based on animals?

And I should get an F-Zero game soon.

Astal
Vib Ribbon
Magical Popn
Samurai Hero Musashi
and the ENTIRE klonoa franchise.

For me, it'd have to be:

Wild Arms Series (It was always overshadowed by Final Fantasy, so it never got the attention I feel it deserved. It was doomed to moderate obscurity from the start, being considered a 'waiting' game for FF7 right off the bat.)

Digimon World 1 and 3 (Overshadowed by the Pokemon games. While I do feel the Pokemon games are better, the 1st and 3rd games of Digimon World deserve some more recognition I feel. The 1st was an interesting Digimon raising/battle experience, and the 3rd was a decent RPG. The 2nd is pretty bad though.)

Pokemon XD (While Pokemon in general is very popular, this game for some reason went under the radar. I feel it was a unique take at the Pokemon formula, and with a little tweaking, could become a very solid series.)

Jet Force Gemini (I haven't played this one much, but I enjoyed what I did play of it. For some reason, it never took off in popularity. Plus, I absolutely love the soundtrack.)

Bit.Trip Series (Don't know how underrated this game is, but I never hear anyone talking about it, and they should, because all of the games in this series I've played so far are very fun.)

How about...
Pokemon XD and Colosseum: They worked out quite well, and IMO, I have to say they both had the best Pokemon series story ever. Plus the music was kickass, and I LOVE double battles.
Okami: While I've never played it, I've been watching Chuggaaconroy's LP of it, and I have to say it looks pretty awesome!

Other than them, I don't recall any other more underrated games that come to mind.

Do indie games count? If so, then Cortex Command. Probably the most fun I've ever had with a sidescroller, and barely anyone at my school knows about it.

...Said the guy who said that Zelda was underrated.

Two DSiWare games that I haven't seen many people talk about are X-Scape and Shantae. Both are sequels to GameBoy games that fell under the radar (X-Scape is the sequel to a Japan-only vector shooter game called X, and Shantae was a platformer for GBC that sorta got neglected due to the GBA). X-Scape is an incredibly well-made vector shooter that plays like a psuedo-3D Star Fox. Shantae is a Metroid-esque platformer, and it's apparently made to be an episodic DSiWare series.

Don't get off topic. It was only funny the 1st time.

Anyways, Mr.Driller is extremely underrated. Not a very popular arcade game. But, I have to say the game is very colorful.

Second that, I had that for GBC and it was pretty exciting when you were bored out of your mind.

Mafia II deserved a better rating.

and Minecraft deserves more attention.

I think so, I liked it, but apparently, any game that has come out within the past 5 years is required to have multiplayer, because multiplayer bumps up a game that has 2 stars to 5 stars and turns a half-***ed game into a prime example in the book of "How to make an awesome game."

Mirror's Edge was great. Screw multiplayer, EA is the only company smart enough to realize that you do not need a multiplayer feature to make a great game. (I'm looking at you, Infinity Ward and Treyarch)

Heh, true dat.

But I gotta admit, they're (MW2/BO) still pretty decent games IMO.

Maniac Mansion, this game's just dying for a remake. It seems to only be remembered for the NES version these days.

Deja Vu 1 & 2. Shadowgate is much more well-known, but I really like the theme/setting of Deja Vu much better.

Star Wars for the NES, people say it's bad just because it's not just like the movie, but it's still a really fun game (and it's close enough anyway).

The Lawnmower Man for the Super Nintendo. Unlike the movie, pretty darn good.

I had a lot of fun with those Austin Powers GBC games, they had a lot to do and a really unique menu interface that made it seem like a home computer. You could customize it a whole lot as well.

Hamtaro: Ham-Hams Unite! for the GBC. Not because the gameplay was particularly spectacular, but it was so fun to just run around and explore, great music and abysmally cute graphics.

Since you bring up Star Wars, this reminds me of Rogue Squadron for the N64. It's a much better dogfighter than Star Fox, since you're not on rails and you can explore the maps and uncover extra missions, plus you can choose from several craft. Too bad the sequels kinda sucked.

Hmmm, I never played the first one much, but I thought the sequels were great.
