That's a really roomy iPod nano.

Holy. That's lots of space, like as much as my laptop. I'd never be able to fill that up. I've got an 8GB iPod touch and I've still got lots of room even with all that stuff I have on it.

You could hold like 20,000,000,000,000,000 songs in that thing!

That's not actually how much it's supposed to hold...which is why I put it in Error Messages...

Basically, I synced Iron Man 2, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and some albums to the iPod out of boredom, and then all of a sudden it expanded to >200 GB of data. Unfortunately I couldn't fill that space up and the "problem" went away as soon as I unplugged the iPod.

You're using a Mac, OSx, and an iPod.

The problem is right in front of you.

Woah! Even if this is not the actual capacity of your iPod, it's still pretty surprising to see this huge number. My phone has an internal capacity of 32 GB, and although I put so many songs/movies/applications on it, it still has 18 GB available.

Wonder what would happen if you tried to fill it up.

And according to your iTunes your iPod can hold about 464 times as much as mine.

Easy: reformat the iPod. Take a look at the screenshot. In addition to the obscene amounts of space, it's formatted as a Windows iPod. Chances are something screwed up.

To reformat it, do the following:
1) Make sure you know what's on the iPod, since you're going to have to retransfer it all.
2) Hit "Restore."
3) Say yes to all of the stuff. Wait for it to reformat the disk and wipe everything clean.
4) Resetup all of your stuff on the iPod: music, movies, personal settings, etc.
5) ...
6) Profit!

And that's how you do it.

EDIT: Actually, try unplugging it and plugging it back in. See if the results are the same or not, then if they are, do the above steps. If not, then yeah.

^ implying the problem doesn't occur on Windows, which it does and Tom's being biased towards Apple products again (It's happened to me before on my XP desktop.)

The problem went away as soon as I unplugged the iPod from the USB. It's just a synchronization glitch that's really hilarious. As soon as I unplugged it it went back to being a normal 8 GB iPod nano.

I should probably reformat it so that it's not a Windows iPod anyways but even so. :V (this iPod was originally synced to the aforementioned XP desktop)

I figured it was just a glitch anyway.

Also, I've never heard anyone poke fun at Linux's infamous instability when left unmaintained. >.>

Seriously though, this was in the General Computing thread, not the Error/Issue thread, thus I felt it necessary to poke fun instead of suggesting fixes. Everyone calm down.

Off topic: Look below 'Nathan's iPod'. Who's Sandra?

On topic: My computer has less GB than that. >:C

...My mother. Sandra is my mom. That's my mom's iPod touch that I constantly steal from her and use while she isn't using it. (My cat tore apart her headphones, so until she gets a new pair it's all mine.)

Wow! That is a lot of space. I have a 64 GB iPod touch and I can't even fill 6 GB of it!
