I know this is suppose to be the best Paper Mario game. But, there's other people who say it's good and others who say it's the worst Mario game. Should I get Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door.

The thousand year door was a great game. I played through it several times and highly recommend it. If you do get it, make sure you look EVERYWHERE. Smack everything with a hammer; talk to everyone. There are little things in the game that make it all worthwhile.

A billion times yes. Definitely one of my favorite games. I've played through the main story so many times I lost count.

It was THE BEST game in the Paper Mario franchise. And second only to superstar saga in all the SMRPG's.

Personally its on my top 10 list of all-time greatest games. That said, you should know what you're getting:

  • It is very slow. It's meant to be very slow. Honestly, you may find yourself reading more than you are kicking butt. However, a lot of people like this. ...Others don't.
  • As with above, the story is incredibly in-depth, and frankly epic. If you like plot-lines, its an amazing game. If you like Call of Duty... maybe not.
  • There is a lot of humor and even the occasional tounge-and-cheek. If you like this its just that much better.
  • It /is/ an RPG, similar to Pokémon or Final Fantasy. So its nothing like your standard side-scroller. However, its also an incredibly simple one. Much emphasis is put on being able to pull off tricky button combos (having played through the game 4 or 5 times, I'm a master), and in terms of health... Well, when you beat the game you'll probably have about 50 hit points. In addition, mechanics like Attack and Defence are expressed in single digits (by default 1 and 0 respectively).

If you thought this post was too long, yeah, definitely not for you

  • Call of Duty?....Sorry, I'm a full out Nintendo (somewhat Sony) fan. But, I think you would mean a type like KH?

  • I loved Paper Mario and liked Super Paper Mario, I will probably end up loving this as well.

Reminds me of a typical RPG. Which is good.

TTYD uses the same, familiar Hp, Fp, and badge commands you're used to. New thing? Stylish commands.

The first time I played Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, I loved it. In the week I rented it, I beat the entire game. (and I can't play any video games on weekdays O_o)
Ironically, it was my last GC game before I moved on to Wii and I still love it just as much as I did back then when it was first released. Go buy it!

If you think the game is easy for some reason, try beating the Pit of Trials after you beat the first Chapter. If you manage to get further than 70, you're better than I am.

Of course you should buy it. You can't call yourself a Mario fan without playing PM:TTYD.
