Taking my first Printmaking class.
Thought it'll be fun to show off my work.
We had to do four plates: Landscape, Human Figure, Still Life and Abstract/Experimental.
Well, I already have three of the four plates done and it's not even mid-term.
I even have half of my starter plate left so I'm going to do a lot of tiny prints for fun and experiments.

They are a little large.

Plate 3 - Human Figure
Has not been proofed so it's darker than the other plates

These are random images I am going to print until I decide on my 4th project plate.

That is really cool, Jason. I particularly like the Landscape one.

These are real cool! Good job on them. We did printmaking in Art once and it was fun but it was probably the lowest level of printmaking that you can have

I think the Abstract one is the coolest, especially the way that you added shading to it.

This is Printmaking I. It's the lowest that's offered, but it's still expensive. XD ($40 for the plate. $98 for the required supply kit [40% off too])

The Abstract is a redesign from one of my Design I projects. Once I get a new Card Reader, I'll take a picture of it. I left out some elaborate metallic swirls and spirals since I was trying to get the hang of the needle and not trying to stab myself with it. o_o!

Well, we just used a linoleum block, carved it out, and inked it up.. Put it on paper and you're done. simple stuff. I honestly can't tell how you're making these or what you're making these from before you put them on paper, actually.

Zinc plate. :3
You cut off the size of your print, file the edges, coat it in hardground (liquid wax), etch out the picture, put it in acid, wash off the acid, clean off the wax, ink it up, scrap off the excess, soak your paper, ready the press, print your plate, let the paper dry for a couple hours.... Repeat.

I think the block is featured in my Printmaking III or VI. Someone did an Edgar Allan Poe/Raven/Nevermore print. o_O It. Looks. Awesome!

Err wow, quite complicated. All we did was carve. :3 But yeah, cool stuff.

And that epic print sounds cool :u Wish you had a pic.

I've pretty much only done the same as SK, but those are quite cool. I absolutely love the landscape one, too

Wow, they're awesome! I really like the one with the skeleton, it looks awesome. The only printing I've ever done is with a square of polystyrene, using a pencil to carve my design into it... :I

It doesn't come out very well.

Thanks. I should print my Human Figure tomorrow. I'm a little unsure if those weird white spots are just unclean spots or accident-acid areas. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. xD Even if it's the latter, it'll still work. Old-fashion Santa in an old-fashion print style.

Whoa.. awesome. I did these in 8th grade with linoleum blocks. I failed miserably at it. But nevermind me, these are really good!

I love the detail in the human figure print.

How long do each of these take on average?

Well, the class is two hours long. I'm able to do each stage per class, so in a perfect world, I can go from plate to print in a week... but in a perfect world, I'm not lazy.
