Pokémon General → Colosseum and Ranger in the same universe?

Do you guys think that the Colosseum and Ranger games take place in the same universe as the main pokemon games?

I think they do. Both games that take place in the Orre region can communicate with the 3rd Gen GBA games. Same thing with the Ranger games, except they communicate with the 4th gen games. Although, one could probably argue about the time period.

I've also seen people argue over this by bringing up the location of event pokemon like Ash's pikachu.

They may be but there has never been a confirmed connection between them, but I think most likely they are.

In XD, there is a bottom floor to the Pokemon Center in Phenac City where you can communicate with the GBA games. There is a bookshelf there that, when faced with A pressed, brings up a text box with the following.

Well, Ranger is actually somewhat confirmed (or strongly hinted, at least) to be in the same Universe. The Manaphy from the first game`s Event Mission was stated to only be able to hatch in Sinnoh, meaning the both exist in the same world. Additionally, Pokemon Rangers from the games have appeared in the mainstream anime episodes and worked with Satoshi and the group. So I`d say Orre is the place of debate. I`m pretty sure it was based off of Arizona, but other than that, I have no idea about it`s geographical placement relative to the other regions. I`d like to think Orre`s in the same world as well, but at the moment, there isn`t much evidence except for what isbraagg said.

Theres a tiny little flaw I see in that map. In the first movie, Ash and all the other trainers frickin swam to New Island via Pokemon. Unless they swam the distance of the Sevii Islands and the entire Almia region within one night on a Pokemons back, I doubt New Island is that far away.


And.. OH BOY, a thread about reality/univese discusstion. YAAY! I have billions of theories for just about every single question imaginable related to the Pokemon reality/universe..

Anyway, back on topic, I'd think that every single game takes place in the same universe. Except for stuff like Trozei, Snap, Pinball, and all that other stuff..
Although I do wonder alot about which reality dominates the land, the video game, or the anime.
