Pokémon Black & White broke yet another record. Having sold 2.6 million units in the first two days only, according to a report from Famitsu Magazine, they are now the best-selling Pokémon games in history. Taking the previous record of having 1 million pre-orders in Japan into consideration, this makes Pokémon Black & White both the fastest- and best-selling Pokémon games ever!

No doubt with Pokémon B/W being the best selling games, and this Generation is a good thing about "starting over" the series as well.

There's been a lot of changes and hype to the series now. I'm not surprised. It'll be the same old game for the older players, but a nice starting point (metaphorically) for the younger players.

I can't wait to see the sales figures when these games hit the states.

According to wikipedia:
Mario: 240
Pokemon: 217

Are we ever going to beat him? I don't think Galaxy 2 sold enough to outpace Black and White.

Mario has gone up 18 million since my article, we have gone up 16 million.

I think we will, but we still need to wait for the total world game sales. Right now we only have Japan's sales.

With the US and Europe release, the sales will overcome Mario. I hope so.

This is just one piece of evidence showing everyone loves Pokemon. (Another would be a random girl in my biology saying she loves Pikachu).

Back on topic!
If Pokemon B/W was this popular in Japan, the sales will more than likely be gigantic once they are released to the rest of the world.

So far, this is the fastest selling game I know of. (Next one being Starcraft II at 843,000 in the first day).

What was the best selling Pokemon game before B/W?

Can't wait for it to hit the states!

When Gold and Silver were released, they sold 1.4 million in the first week. Heart Gold and Soul silver sold 1.4 million on the first two days, and now Black and White with 2.6 million in the first two days.

Either Pokemon is still really popular... or we are becoming very impatient as a generation.. speaking of impatient, I want my game already. >.<

EDIT: According to Bulbapedia, the games have sold 3,386,358 units as of yesterday.
