A Twitter user called @nocchisan announced that the probable release date for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan is going to be November 20th, 2010. The tweet also mentions that some products, which are designed by the user himself, are going to go on sale simultaneously with the hand-held console.

Here's the original post:

"On November 20th, the 11 goods I designed for use with the 3DS will go on sale simultaneously. Those of you buying the 3DS, please buy them while you're at it! This will be officially announced on the homepage eventually, lol. Best regards."

The official release date and price of the console is expected to be announced by Nintendo in a press conference on September 29th, so this thread will probably be updated at that time. Until then, the release date mentioned will be considered tentative.

I hope the next Pokémon games aren't on this console. I really don't want to buy it.

The Bulbanews article says that B&W are playable on older DS systems, so you're good there; the only enhancement is apparently video chat if you're using a DSi.

I'm getting it ASAP. Even if I have to preorder it from Japan (it has an English language setting, so I'm probably good there), I'm getting it.

Yay not that far away, but $300 for a portable gaming system!? Good grief I spent that much on a computer. However that isn't official, it will probably be around $250 in the US. For $200 I would definitely consider getting it at launch, but if that's the case I'll wait for a price drop.

D: I don't think my mom will agree to get that for my birthday without me paying about half of it. I mean seriously, it's more than an XBox 360!

That retail price is the conversion rate of Japanese yen to US dollar. The actual asking price of the 3DS would probably be around $200. I really can't forsee it outpricing the DSi XL, and I DEFINITELY don't see it outpricing the Wii.

Actually no, that's REALLY inexpensive for what you get. A handheld that can do graphics better than a Gamecube plus 3D cameras, a 2GB SD card, and all those other features? If I were Nintendo i'd set it to $250.

Man do I want this...everything looks great about it!!

I think this makes sense, so hopefully the Nintendo 3DS will sell for much less than $300.
