Here's a little something I found while doing an image search on futachimaru, oddly enough.

Do I think they intended this? Well, I'd say probably not. It is a bit of a stretch to call it a coincidence, though.

That is a very creepy connection. May have not been intended, but still.

That is definitely an interesting reference. Victini is effectively the Hiroshima Bomb. This is a little bit on the disturbing side, but then again, there was that Nintendo game 1942. In it, you were an American fighter pilot shooting down Japanese aircraft during World War II.

Wow, that's surprising.

Nice job referencing such a tragedy in a children's game, Gamefreak. :I

Well, we might be blowing it out of proportion a little bit, but still, it's a striking reference.

Wow, that's freaky. I don't think that was a coincidence. I don't think it was unintended, either. It's kind of odd.

I don't really see the connection. Kinda seems like its stretching it a bit, but its an interesting thought nonetheless.

I wonder if it can learn explosion?

That is pretty odd to think that a tiny litttle bundle of joy could be an intentional reference to a nuclear weapon.

It does look so. It is strange how GameFreak get all their ideas.

Although a bit vague, the connection in itself is very interesting. I don't think it was 100% intended, though.

Yes, it is a little bit of a stretch. I'm not sure I subscribe to this whole thing, myself; but I did find it interesting that someone went out of their way to make connections like this.

I just remembered. In the third season of Digimon there was a Digimon similar to Victini, in the sense that it gave ultimate power to the Digimon around it. It was called Calumon. However, It didn't have any relation to Nuclear activity, unlike Guilmon, who had the radioactive Symbol smack-dab on his belly.

Wow, thats quite a disturbing connection you found there.
Maybe im only seeing now after i read this, but does anyone else also see a very very slight resemblance of Victini's ears to the back part of an atomic bomb?

I don't really see that much of a resemblance, if any. I think Victini's ears are the way they are to symbolize the raising of two fingers to make a "V". To my knowledge, a two-fingered "V" can indicate two things: in an anime (from what I can tell in what little I've watched of them), it can mean "victory" which Victini's name is obviously based off of; or it can mean "peace" (at least, that's what "hippies" seem to use it for).
Also, in a simplified scenario where only two parties are involved, A victory for one would mean a loss for the other and, assuming the losing side didn't retaliated, would result in a peaceful era afterwards.
That's one possible take on it.

...I'm such a nerd. I over-analyze everything

Haven't you heard the term, "Peace through superior firepower"?

It seems scary...But at the same time, it may have just been based of that for fun or something.
