After well over a year on HiVelocity, we have analyzed our system resource usage and felt that we've been paying for a far more powerful machine than we've needed for quite some time. We'll be moving to a new, much more afordable server. Be prepared for some downtime between the 14th and 16th.

Let's hope you don't make the mistake of bad hosting again; I remember all of the 500 errors back in the day

Let's just say that a previous host severely oversold their servers, which meant we had to share the CPU with a lot of other sites.

Time for improvement I say! Not that the other one wasn't functional or good enough to my pleasing.

(when I scanned over this thread I read "Server Movie: [didn't see this] 14"... I got curious... Not what I expected)

Turnes out a hivelocity tech found this page. Anyways we got price reduced close to the server were gong to move to.

That might explain all the HiVelocity ads I've been seeing at the bottom of this page.

I'm going to use this opportunity to point out that we will be cleaning stuff up around the forum this weekend in lieu of the server move. We were going to be doing it after the weekend.

I'll point out now that the chat and the signatures are the primary things that will be affected, but there will be a little bit of downtime in other areas as well.

Edit: I think I might reveal more on VGV after it all.
