Hey guys, so I know I just made my return to VR and everything, but I mentioned making a timeline a couple days ago in VRIM and I think it sounds like a great idea. So, to make that timeline, I'm gonna need some major help in remembering the big events in VR's history.

Feel free to spit out ideas at me, I'm gonna need them all. Posting the date you joined would be great as well since I'd rather not go find out when everyone joined.

December 6, 2006 - Floatzel.net is created

December 27, 2009 - VR switches to vBulletin

November 27~29, 2009 - First tournament

November 28th, 2009 - Site name was changed to Victory Road

January 2, 2010 - First (Super Smash Bros.) Brawl tournament

February 28th, 2010 - Victory Bot is created

July 4th, 2010 - The first version of Victory Battles is released

June 27th, 2010 - "Welcome to VR" trend starts in /b/uizel

December 29, 2010 - VRIM comes out

March 20th, 2011 - VRC is closed

April 30th, 2011 - The Great Ban Carnage of 2011

May 5th, 2011 - /b/uizel turns into [Board name TBD] and later Glitch City

September 21st, 2011 - Glitch City is closed

September 4th, 2011 - FreezeWarp makes his final post on the forums before leaving

The day the arcade was put in.

The day the site switched to V. Bulletin.

The day VRIM came out.

The day we had our first tournament.

The day PokeZam and VR merged.

Two dates about myself, but oh well. They are dates and they affected VR in someway.
November 11th 2011 - VRAC is revealed to the forums

I haven't been keeping track of major events. April 14, 2010: I get the still standing high scores on Space Invaders in the Arcade (I want to see some competition in this game!). I joined on March 15, 2009. You can always look at a member's profile for their join date should they not post it here.

The day Zam and VR merged together.

Good suggestions guys, I'll compile a list this weekend and see if I can hunt down some dates.

Annoyingly, a lot of the things that I saw on the Floatzel.net homepage before I joined (well before I joined actually; late 2009/early 2010) seem to be gone from June 2010's database crash.

I can get VRC dates, arcade launch dates, post milestones, PokéZam merger, and more when I have more time to look around.

I think some of the server moves would be quite important dates to include.

Thanks Cat, I figured you'd know the important ones. The server moves are definitely important enough.

I'll do some more of the member list when I ditch my laziness.

The forum's most handsome member joins the forums.

Seeing as Aura hasn't seen this (from what I can gather), his join date is this:
November 27th, 2009.
It's the same as mine, if you can believe that.

I think for now it may be best not to worry too much about specific member join dates until most of the major events are covered. It may even be best not to include any member join dates in the "main" list at all, as I'm sure everyone and their alt wants in on that for some reason or another.

Related, maybe we could add a list of when various mods were promoted/demoted? It'd be hard to get dates before July 2009, and it may be hard to get demotions before December 2009. There is a list in the vBulletin admin panel of exact dates of changing when users were added/removed to usergroups. The one from the old phpBB3 forum is no longer available. (Well, I have the database, but it'd take a little bit of work to thumb through that.)

Maybe you can add the April Fools day jokes? I only know of one but the others were said to be good.

The yearbooks and Victory News archives may be useful resources for this project, as they both to varying degrees describe the events notable to the forum itself (Shadow's part of VNews would be what you'd be mainly interested in).
