So, I got permission from Cat, and I'm going to host the first Pokémon tournament for the forums! I don't have everything worked out quite yet, so I imagine that I will post sign-ups at a later date.
I don't exactly quite have everything worked out, so this is where all of you come in: Give me suggestions for rules (and be specific about it. Include clauses you want in or out, how many Pokémon per battle, etc.) and for a prize. I will consider all suggestions.

The prize should be a really rare event Pokemon, or a custom built (albeit legal, meaning no hax) special Pokemon. I suggest a Celebi or a custom trained Floatzy.

Rules: Well, I don't want to feel like a tard and say a bunch of weird stuff, but Lv. 50 All should be a rule.

Rules:

FOX ONLY!

...FINAL DESTINATION!!

Okay, how about a team of six special Pokémon?

Like custom-built. Perhaps a Floatzel with Thunderpunch (just an idea)? They must be PBR-compliant, though.

Some people don't exactly have the resources for that... *looks at self* Perhaps two tournaments are in order then? One custom made, and the other... I guess blood, sweat, and tears raising

I have the resources. All you need is Pokésav (one that's compatible with Pearl, mind you). You create the Pokémon(s) and I'll put it (them) on my game to be traded to the winner(s).

I'd say that the best way to do it is to allow using whatever platform is best for the individuals battling.

When will this take place anyways?

I'm thinking the rules will be something along those lines, although I can't say for sure. I was really thinking 3 on 3 matches. I'm gonna give this a day, and see what everybody jas to suggest.

Rules: Your team can only consists of Level 1 Bidoof.

I'd assume DS games would also be acceptable for users without PBR. It's entirely between the two users in each battle.

I think we should play with the world championship rules. Meaning all pokemon lvled down to 50, most of the legends gone (forgot specifics), no same 2 items, etc.

At this very moment, I am looking into acquiring the World Championship rules. We will probably go under these, with a few revisions (or at least one that I can think of).

@Alt: Why not? It'll be fun. Either way, I don't know when exactly it's gonna be. I have to make sure I am doing NOTHING ELSE BUT Pokémon that day, and the way my dad is... >_> I don't know when that's going to be.

I could run it if it's a problem. The tournament doesn't have to take place all on the same day. As this is a forum, you can just wait until one tier completes before moving up to the next tier.

I don't think it should be a problem. If it is, I'll tell you. I do like the idea of different tiers on different days, though... *ponders*

So, let's write up a rough draft.

RULES FOR FLOATZEL.NET TOURNAMENT:
1. Any Fourth Generation game from any region of the world may be used (that's right, Hg/Ss are free game if you imported them)
2. This tournament shall be conducted in a single battle format, in 3 on 3 matches. (I'm going to put up a poll, if I can figure out how, to see if this is the more popular.)
3. You may not use the same item more than once, although you may have more than one of the same Pokémon on your team.
4. The following Pokémon are not permitted: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , (tell me if I either A. missed one or B. think others should be on the list. Tell me why they should be included)
5. You may only use legitimately obtained Pokémon with legitimately obtained moves. (Please be honest on this one.)
6. If there is some sort of problem, please contact a judge (not sure who they will be yet, but I have a pretty good idea...) and they will sort it out.

Tell me if I missed any points, please.

Alright, now I guess we should vote on the rules. Start up a new topic with a poll (on Announcements) with that post.
