Athena started twirling around the barren, dry lands. Gible, who was just awakened, is standing on the other side, her face growing red from her early awakening.
Kirlia begins storing psychic energy in her body as she focuses her mind on the Gible. Her psychic energy grows strong, sending weak pulses throughout her body. She stores it more and more until she eventually teleports in front of Guble, hitting her with a strong psychic force. Gible is sen flying back into the crater, but not before her rough skin hurts Kirlia.
Kirlia: -7 Energy -12 Health Gible: -10 Health

Gible picks herself up from the middle of the crater, brushing grainy sand and bits of rock off of her skin. She emits a low growl as she stares at Athena. Her eyes begin glowing a dark purple as an aura engulfs her, the same color as her eyes. Her growls grow louder and louder until she finally sends out a loud roar. This roar creates a strong force, rushing towards the helpless Athena. The force circles around Kirlia, trapping her in a strong twister.

Grass takes no hesitation as he pulls out a Great Ball from his backpack, attempting to capture the wild Pokemon. He launches the ball at Gible who isc aught off guard as the ball absorbs her. The Great Ball falls on the ground, shaking a bit as Gible attempts to escape. The ball continues shaking as Grass watches in anticipation, waiting for a click. The ball stops shaking and then clicks, confirming a successful capture!

Cacturne gave Athena a menacing smile as she backed away from the nightmarish scare crow. He had set up a trap for her, and was ready to deal with his prey. He pulled out a blade of grass from his hat. This blade had an ugly brown color and seemed to be rotting. Despite this, Cacturne would still use it. He brought the blade up to his mouth, blowing into it. The blade let out a soft, eerie tune that made Athena both drowsy and frightened. He continued with this tune as he watched Athena fight her drowsiness. But he hit one wrong note and it all messed up. The tune spiked up to a high note, snapping Kirlia out of her confusion.
Cacturne: MOVE FAILED

Athena watched as Cactyrne crumbled the blade in his hand, muttering curses under his breath. She knew he'd fight until she was weak, so she'd have to stop that. She started charging a pulsing, electric energy in her hand, creating a small, yellow orb. This orb was full of electrical energy and sparks jumped off from it, onto the sandy floor. She aimed it towards Cacturne, sending the orb straight into his chest. This ball of energy hit him, sending shock waves throughout his body. He left out an evil cry as his limbs grew stiff and his body became crippled.
Kirlia: -4 Energy Cacturne: PARALYZED for 5 turns

Cacturne could feel sparks running throughout his body as small jolts of electricity ran down his spine. The evil scarecrow attempted to attack Athena, but he couldn't get his body to move no matter how hard he tried. Cacturne: MOVE FAILED; PARALYZED for 4 turns

Athena began charging another electric attack as she watched her opponent struggle to move from his crippling status ailment. This orb was bigger than before and had a stronger energy supply. You could even feel the sparks from miles away. Athena knew that this energy could become to strong for her, so she took no hesitation to attack. She launched a series of large bolts at the Cacturne who could only watch helplessly. These large, yellow bolts struck him everywhere. His chest, legs, head, and even on his arms.
The overpowering electric attacks were too much for Cacturne. He could feel himself burning up as he watched a burn mark form on his arm. He was soon going to ignite much like dry brush caught in a thunderstorm.

Caturne was starting to become real mad at this Pokemon. He was still crippled from paralysis, but that didn't mean he stopped trying to move.
His eyes began to glow a dark, dark, purple as a dark aura engulfed him. This seemed to be his doing, and he smiled as he was filled with dark energy. This energy seemed to make him free from paralysis for a moment. Cacturne immediately attacked Athena, jabbing her with his long and thorny arms.

Cacturne's immense strength had caused the small Pokemon to fly back and crash against a rock. Athena felt a sharp pain in her spine as she feel on a jagged rock. She may have been damaged quite a bit, but she was a fighter, and would not give up.
She began scouring the land for leaves. Any would do, whether they be dead or alive. It was quite a mission finding leaves in a place full of dry brush, dirt, dirt, dirt, sand, and more dirt. At last, she found an burned, twisted tree nearby. Near the base of the trunk there were a pile of dead, brown leaves. Athena used her psychic powers to pick these up and bring them her way. Once she had them in front of her, she imbued them with a mystical power, bringing them back to life. She sent these leaves flying at Cacturne in a storm. He tried to move, but his crippling paralysis struck again. The leaves hit him, cutting through his green body and leaving him in scratches.
Kirlia: -5 Energy Cacturne: -7 Health

Cacturne could do nothing much but stand there and let himself sustain damage. Once again, he tried to move, but he was unable to. Every move he made would send a jolt of pain down his side, causing him to go stiff and freeze. Even worse, his body was burning again! He could start to notice burns all over his arms and legs.
Cacturne: -5 Health PARALYZED for 2 turns. BURNED for 5 turns

Kirlia watched as the wild Pokemon was suffering from the battle. She wanted to help him, but she knew he'd just attack her right after. Instead, she decided to give him her love. Her eyes began to turn into pink hearts as a lovely aura filled the air. Cacturne hated this aura and growled at all the love. Kirlia knew he'd take some convincing, so he blew kisses at him. He tried to move his neck to dodge them, but they all hit, causing his mood to lighten up. He was feeling a little in love with Athena, but felt like it was just a trick. She then sent a big heart towards him. He watched as the heart hit him, causing him to fall in love with her.
