The upcoming Pokémon TCG mini-set, Dragon Selection, will be introducing the Dragon-type to the TCG, the first new type to be introduced in years, after the previous nine types having already been firmly established amongst the players. Whether the new type will continue to be available for cards appearing after the release of this set is, as of yet, unknown.

I am surprised that they didn't have Dragon type despite the abundance of them in these five generations.

This should be intresting to see. Last types they added to the TCG was Dark and Steel which was way back in Neo Genesis.

If you ask me, the Dragon-type should've been added a long time ago. Think of how the competitive TCG would've been had it been introduced with Dark and Steel, or heck, even to begin with. All of the best Dragon-type cards wouldn't have to be stuck with all the Psychics and Colorless, and they would've had much more opportunity to wreck havoc on opponents.
But, the past has past. I'm excited to see what's in store for the Dragon-type.
