This mod allows users to automatically keep items upon death. It allows additional options to setup a different retention for each death type, such as being killed by another player, lava, or a skeleton.
Death reasons

I found a bug with this plugin. If you die from lava, do NOT quit to title screen. Respawn and then go to title screen. Otherwise you'll lose all your items anyways.
...I just lost everything from falling into the lava lake in the Nether.

Ouch. Well, I'm not sure what to do about it, other than warning folks.
