I walked through the garden, trying to reach the battle I was supposed to ref. The grass was literally "tall grass" towering over me by a couple of inches. Every step I took, I found Caterpie clinging on to my legs. I brushed them away ever so slightly.
I then saw the two battlers there, waiting for me. They looked as if they had been there for hours. I ran towards them, butt ripped on a rock right before I could start.
Ugh. This isn't going to be good, I thought.

Battle between teamplasma and RK-9 will now begin!

Math started off the battle. He was well adapted to this arena, unlike the Psychic type Mime Jr. The Sycther looked at his opponent with a mean glare in his eyes. He was soon tapping his feet on the ground, forming a beat. Math got more into the dance. Soon he was buzzing his wings and sharpening his blades. The beat got faster and louder. BOOM! Scyther stomped his feet on the ground as loud as he could. The dance started, and he was ready to fight!
(Sycther: -3 Energy; +1 ATK)

MiRaClEs thought nothing of the previous dance Scyther had done. The Mime Jr actually enjoyed the beat and danced alongside Sycther.
But Mime Jr knew he would have to take the battle serious. He started off his next move by putting his hands out in front of him. Soon a pulsing, yellow orb started forming. It grew bigger until it was about the size of a tennis ball. Normally this would be a simple attack, but his ability, Technician raised the attack power. Finally, Mime Jr felt like it was enough, and he sent and electrical shock towards Math. He was sent back a little by this attack. Feeling a hard shock wave go through his whole body. He felt paralyzed for a moment, but shook it off.
(Mime Jr; -7 Energy Scyther: -7 Health)

Math started buzzing his large wings, bringing himself off the floor. He was gaining speed for his next attack, as he knew it would seriously hurt the Mime Jr. He flew back and forth threw the forest, trying to get the prefect spot to hit MiRaClEs. Finally, he rushed right at him. Using his right scythe, he slashed Mime Jr on the back, causing him to faceplant on the floor. When he got back up, he saw Math flying at him again. He tried to run away, but was too slow. He was hit by Sychter's other arm!
(Scyther: -5 Energy Mime Jr: -11 Health)

Mime Jr unwillingly brought himself back up from the grassy floor. The previous attack hurt him real bad. Mime Jr got ready for his next move, one he hoped would deal some damage to Math. He created a ball of electricity from his palms. Then, with all of his might, he released a large shock wave from the orb.
Scyther had a wave of electricity go through him once again. He disliked it, but he just brushed it off as a simple attack.

Math started off another beat. This one was faster and softer though.
Thump, thump, thump, thump..
His feet tapped at an amazing rate. He started sharpening his scythes against one another, adding to the hostile nature of the beat.
(Scyther: -3 Energy; +1 ATK)

Mime Jr. saw this as the perfect time to set up. Using his telekinetic abilities, he entered Math's mind. Combining his attack and Math's attack stat together, he then avaeraged it out.
MiRaClEs was happy at the result. Giving him an added boost to attack.
(Mime Jr: -5 Energy; Both users have +2 ATK)

Math continued on with his dance, knowing nothing of what MiRaClEs did. This time the beat was slower and deeper.
Bumm... bumm.. bumm..
The beat went on its eerie beat. Scyther then started slicing the air with his blades, raising his attack.
(Scyther: -3 Energy; +1 ATK)

Knowing that math had beefed up his attack, Mime Jr decided to take some safety precautions. He set up a very, very light pink barrier in front of him. This barrier was nearly invisible to the Bug Pokemon, and would absorb half the damage dealt by the attack.
Mime Jr was now even safer...
(Mime Jr: -3 Energy; lasts 5 turns.)
