Okay, I've given this alot of thought, checked for stats, moves, types, etc... and I've finally decided what my team will be in HeartGold.

Ok, Im definitely getting chikorita into meganium, putting the red gyarados on my team, the notch eared pichu, heracros, munchlax-> snorlax (munchlax is in the poke-iforgotbutitholdsapokemonandyouwalkandcatchstuff) and possibly a dragonite.

Typhlosion, Heracross, Gyarados (preferably the Red one), Donphan, Crobat, Tyrannitar.

I won't be able to get it right away because of more important things right now, but when I do get it...I plan of getting Chickorita, and that's all I know.

No one ever uses totodile

If I do get it, I would really like to use Totodile.
...Or Chickorita.
...Possibly Cyndaquil.

I changed my mind instead of using noctowl and bellosum I'm going to use Umbreon and Tangrowth and YES you can get one in this game

I'm gonna use Feraligatr as a tough HM slave, but I miiight choose Cyndaquil. I know in my LP I'm using Cyndaquil, but in the game I'm not recording I'll use one of the other two. I've had a soft spot for Chikorita though.

My team may be:

Hoothoot/Natu
Tyrogue

They'll evolve, don't worry.

As for the guys NOT on camera, the team will be the same, save a change in starters. I want my team to parallel Red's GSC team.

Yeah, you can get them in the Silph Co. building. Enter the elevator with Rotom at the front of your team. It will power the elevator to take you to another floor with the appliances.
