If I wasn't limited to 6, I'd include Pumpkaboo and Suicune as honorable mentions.

Let's see, I'd go with Purrloin and Growlithe for pets, Mienshao to fight for me, Vanillish so I colud have sonething to eat in a life-or-death situation, Wobbuffet so I could take my anger out on something that to me looks like a punching bag, and Monferno to keep me warm.

Infernape (M) It would be my version of Pikachu in the anime.
Lugia - A close second to Infernape as it's my all time favorite legendary and I would love to soar in the sky on its back.
Volcarona (M) - The most aesthetically pleasing Pokemon design and I think it is strangely adorable.
Yveltal - Because it's awesome and once you play with it a lot it isn't so scary (Unless you smack in in pokemon amie)
Tyranitar (M) - The sanstorm might get kind of annoying but it's hard for me to make a team without a Tyranitar.
Jynx (F) - For when I am sexually frustrated (Totally kidding Jynx is one of my least favorite pokemon)
Greninja - I love ninjas and Greninja can teach me a lot. It is such an awesome Pokemon who looks great and is fun to play with
