So if anyone was on last night, Nintendo released their eShop update at 9:45 PST only for so many people to log onto it and bring their server down for maintenance.
So, if you guys got anything before their server crashed (assumingly the two freebies they put up, Pokedex 3D and 3D Classics: Excitebike) how are you enjoying your software so far?
I also used the 3DS Transfer Tool to move Cave Story DSi onto my 3DS. You have no idea how much the Circle Pad benefits a 2-D platformer.
By the by their servers are back up- I was able to log on after the crash and download the two free bits of software.
I got both the freebies before the server crashed, and from what I saw of them, they're both pretty cool. I'd really like to get Super Mario Land, and with the option to get $5 minimum, I'll probably get it really really soon. All in all, I can't wait for more things to release on the Virtual Console, and maybe some of the 3DS original stuff as well.
Got both the free games, and they're pretty good. Especially Exitebike, which despite the fact it's a 2D game, seems to have the best 3D out of any other 3DS app I have (Or maybe that's just me setting the 3D intensity to max.). Plus it's kind of addicting.
And I'm transferring a few DSi Shop games to my 3DS right now.
EDIT: The Circle Pad makes controls way more comfortable on AiRace, Metal Torrent, and tons more DSiWare games it's not even funny.
Obviously I picked up the two freebies. I also got Super Mario Land and Link's Awakening, two Gameboy games that I've wanted to play for a while now but never got round to.
Pokédex 3D: fairly helpful and simple, and the AR feature's really nice.
Excitebike 3D: Eh... Can't really say I'm a massive fan.
Super Mario Land: Heck yeah, this was great fun. Finished it on my second run, which only took around an hour, but I still go back and try again.
Zelda: Link's Awakening: Buy this game. If you haven't played Link's Awakening yet, I highly recommend it. It is a little confusing but there's an in-game hint system to tell you where to go next.
