...Yeah, so I mostly created this thread is I can leech off of your favorites and maybe get some good games for my new computer. But it's also just to post our favorites. ![]()
For me I would have to say Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Portal 2 are the best games I have played on the PC, though I haven't actually played that many PC games, mostly just sports/racing games.
I've been into PC gaming more than consoles lately. Some of the games that influenced that:
- Rise of Nations. Oldish, but it remains my favorite RTS. I don't even play RTSes anymore but I crack this game open once in a while.
- The Sims... yeah. It's the Sims.
- Deus Ex because it's like the only shooter I'll ever enjoy.
- Oblivion. I think this game actually holds the record for the most hours I've clocked in anything. *cough halfofitwasspentinclass cough*
- Portal and Portal 2, naturally.
Trackmania United Forever (but didn“t played it since like 6 months O_O ) and CS:S.
1 – PokeRemixStudioI played a lot of the PC games from the late 1990's. I barely play PC games anymore when I start to use the internet.
Favorite PC games are(most of them were edutainment games and I was 7 at that time):
Backyard Baseball
Jumpstart 2,3,4,5 & 6 (I still remember the verb song with the goat in 2nd grade. XD) And I remember never finishing 4th grade because the game scared me as a little kid and it was difficult. There was a later version that was released without the scary stuff but I never play it.
Rugrats Adventure Game
The Cluefinders 4th, 6th grade, and The Incredible Toy Store Adventure
Some phonic game that takes place in a wild west. I can't remember the name though... Brings back the good memories.
I don't play PC games much, and my collection is small. I like Spore a lot, but it's nowhere near my very topsy favorite.

Aw yeah, Doom is. Favorite PC game and FPS too. Doom has such greatness perhaps due to simplicity. It's fast, has that multiple difficulty system for better players, (screw off at Nightmare mode though), and can run on pretty much any computer these days thanks to it's technical design. Not to mention its fun to mod for, as well as having newer ports that give fresh appearances to classic levels and new maps alike.
Not to mention the Doomguy runs like a madman.
Gah, I forgot two really good games:

Ultima Underworld, and it sequel, Ultima Underworld II
Fantastic games, the first first-person game with a complete 3D engine (Albeit using 2D sprites for entities like Doom - It came before Doom though). The stories are excellent, the control scheme is almost completely flawless, a great real-time combat system and they had a very good (Though somewhat subtle) RPG system. I highly, highly recommend this title.
On Nin's note: Daggerfall. Though I'll have to try that one thar.
EDIT: wtf...
