Got curious as to what you guys like to listen to, specifically your favorite artists. Top 5 or whatever is cool too. Here's mine.

1. Rise Against
2. System of a Down
3. Less Than Jake
4. Mirrored Theory
5. Between the Buried and Me

Yeah, in that order. Your turn. :3

In no particular order:

-Aphex Twin (acid, breakcore, or random electronicish stuff, you never know exactly what you're getting)

-Karnivool (Australian alt-metal band with a very creative style (check Themata or Simple Boy for good songs))

-Cex (he makes Glitchcore actually sound like music and not a bunch of random computer sounds arranged in no particular order).

-Tool (pieces ranging from something similar to sludge metal (Flood) to post metal electronic meditation pieces (Reflection) to math rock journeys (Lateralus) to straight out stoner rock (Third Eye) - great band with a great range, it's all unique in some way but at the same time all different).

-A Perfect Circle (about a cross between industrial and hard rock, or something - not sure really how to describe their style)

-Subscape (creative Dubstep from a South African - Artifical Dreamer is a great example of a more relaxed piece while Dreadlock is a great example of the grit you'd expect from dubstep)

-God is an Astronaut (post. and prog. instrumental metal/rock that can go from quite relaxing to pretty heavy)

-Giraffes? Giraffes! (Math rock in about the most unique and unusual style I've ever heard - "When the Catholics Girls go Camping, the Nicotine Vampires rule the streets" is a great example of their work (all their songs have crazy names like that)).

In the order I discovered them (ish):

- Symphony X, especially V: The New Mythology Suite. It's an album that's like one giant 60-minute song. Oh, and The Divine Wings of Tragedy. Classic~
- Fairyland. Score to a New Beginning is on the top of my list here. They also win the award for manliest band name ever.
- Derdian. Symphonic, hardcore, and Italian; three of my favorite things. =P Hard to pick a single favorite track from these guys, but I'd recommend Preludio/The Spell and Battleplan to sample their style: Awesome.
- Rhapsody of Fire. More Italian music, but with a different style. Favorite tracks include everything from The Frozen Tears of Angels.
- Elvenking. Also Italian (lol) but with a strong Celtic feel. I can never get enough of Trows Kind at UNREASONABLY LOUD VOLUMES.

Honorable mentions: Dragonforce, Luca Turilli (see Rhapsody of Fire), Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, and Suspyre. (...Actually scratch that, Suspyre's better than that. Go listen to Apex and Manipulation in Time. Right now.)

...Yeah I listen to metal. So sue me. XD

Forgot one of my newer favorites.
Sabaton. I love when songs tell stories that have meaning, and 90% of Sabaton's songs are about historical battles and campaigns. Couple of my favorites are Wolfpack and Aces in Exile (or everything from Coat of Arms, really). It's awesome music, plus it teaches you history!
