I installed MS-DOS 7.1 on an old computer, made a new partition (fdisk ftw) and installed Xubuntu on that, but GRUB does not seem to be compatible with Mr Dos. I've seen a few workarounds but the sites were too disorganized to give me anything useful. Any help?

During the boot mode, insert:

{user_remove_msdos=
boot_seq.msdos//0/1
remove_boot.msdos//0/1
ubuntu.boot//1/1}

Problem solved. Enjoy your Xubuntu machine.

u mad?

Nosrsly, the workarounds are tricky, especially for MS-drivers. Try what I've done in the past for dual-boots; just integrate similar drivers. >.>; There's no need for anything MS if you have anything open-source.
