I've noticed most other schools do things quite differently from mine. I'm curious to see what your normal school day looks like.

Our school has a 6-day cycle. We have 5-period days. The school day goes from 7:30 to 2:45. I arrive at around 7:15-7:20-ish. The first 10 minutes are homeroom. Period 3 is about 2 hours long. It contains both a lunch period and a regular class. Lunch is divided into 4 groups, A, B, C and D. Groups B and C go to lunch in the middle of their 3rd pd class, while group A has lunch before it and D has it after. I'm group D. At the end of our pd 3 class, we have a 15-minute "community reading", but most teachers skip this when they feel we need more time to finish up the lesson, so students who have a class during 3rd period are usually ahead of those who have the same class in other periods. Period 5 classes are shorter and only worth 1/4 of a credit. They're way too easy IMO. They should be longer and more challenging.

At my school, we get new classes every semester.

My schedule:

PeriodClassCycle DayTimeLength
1Honors Chemistry1-67:45-9:001 1/4 hours
2German I1-69:05-10:201 1/4 hours
3Honors Biology1-610:25-12:001 hour 35 minutes
 Lunch1-612:05-12:3530 minutes
4Computer Programming II1, 3, 512:40-1:551 1/4 hours
 Weight Training2, 4, 612:40-1:551 1/4 hours
5PA & Lancaster County History1, 32:00-2:4545 minutes
 Study Hall2, 52:00-2:4545 minutes
 Environmental Science4, 62:00-2:4545 minutes

I also have Track & Field after school until 5:30.

The new high school they're building is supposed to be finished by my senior year, and they're considering making it an 8-period day. I hate that idea, because then we'd only get about 45 minutes per class, which isn't enough time IMO, and we'd certainly have much more homework than we do now.

I have 5-period days, and each class is 1 hour long. We get a 30 minute break after the first two lessons, then we have period 3, then we have a 35 minute break before periods 4 and 5. I quite like it, it makes the day feel a lot shorter than it is! :3

7 periods of about 49 minutes, but 5th period is like 1 hour (extended due to 3 20 minute lunches). 7:30 to 2:25.

6 periods, 50 minutes each. The day runs from 8:42 to 3:31 (weird times, I know)

My school day runs from 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m., not including zero hour, which starts at 7:20 a.m. Each period is 55 minutes, with the exception of 5th, which is 25 minutes, to compensate for lunch. They call it focus. It's a homeroom type of thing.

4 periods a day with alternating A and B days. Each block (period) is 1 hr 15 mins. Lunch is between 2nd and 3rd block.

A days have one schedule (Chem, Orch, World, AP Lang)
B days have another (Band, French, Piano, Pre Calc)

It's an hour before school technically starts. It gives extra credits. We've got two of them: Jazz Band and Jazz Choir.

School starts at 8:37AM and runs 'til 3:27PM. I have 6 periods per day roughly 50 minutes each. In between classes we have 3 minutes to get to our next class and then we have around 50 minutes for lunch (and that's essentially our only real "break" time).

My normal school day consists of 5 classes, 65 minutes each. We get one break, which is around 30 minutes long, after the first two lessons, then another break of length 15 minutes after the next two lessons. The day always starts at 7:40 AM and alway ends at 2:30 PM.

There are a few changes in other days of the week, though: on Sunday and Thursday, we have "Form Time" for 20 minutes after the fifth lesson, and on Tuesday, we have 6, slightly shorter classes than the other days.

10 periods, except on Wednesdays, where we have 11. We have eight 38-minute periods, a pre-lunch period where we have 46 minutes, and lunch, which is 30 minutes. On Wednesdays, the first three periods are shortened to 20¼ minutes, along with a basic study hall tacked on of the same length before the actual school. Confusing? Here, let me explain it with two tables.

Well it depends.

When I'm taking my shop Culinary, usually the day starts off with Career devolpment. Then we usually have theory for one hour then we work on our station to do whatever job I have. After lunch we usually just spend our time cleaning up and just hangout for the last half hour of the school day.

During academics I just have an erratic 7 period schedule of English 3, History, Algebra II, and Biology. Depending onthe day I'd also usually have Health, Art, and Gym.

Wow.

I spent a lot of time simplifying my original post to as few sentences as possible, not realizing how long and elaborate everyone else's posts were going to be.

So I might as well add to that original post...

Also ooh post 777 yeah boi

Also I'm gonna steal Emp's table idea. I'm sure he wouldn't mind...

Hmm. This quarter makes me start early every day.

Mondays and Wednesdays: 8:30 - 9:50 a.m. Intro to American Lit.
12:00 - 12:50 p.m. Folk Music Experience

Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9:00 - 10:50 a.m. LGTBQ Health
3:00 - 4:50 p.m. Political Science Fiction

Fridays: 8:30 - 9:50 a.m. Intro to American Lit.

I like my Fridays because I have nothing left after that early class.

Every Wednesday I have seminar which is after 1st hour where I meet National Honors Society. It's a club that stresses on building character and volunteering. To join in, you have to be at least a 10th grader and must have a minimum of 3.5 GPA. When it's seminar day then 2nd hour is more than 1 hour long and lunch is a little bit shorter.

Afterschool I often tay for AP session, the ACE program, boat club, or helping out at the daycare.

I have

PE
english 2
10 min. break
history
(t,w,th only) tutorial. meant to be study hall, but no work is ever done
algebra 2
45 min lunch
bio (but, our teacher lets us do nothing for months at a time if we do well on tests. therefore, this is videogames class)
technical theater (we do all the work for anyone who uses the theater. the work only requires 1/3 of the class to work, so I spend most of it goofing off anyway)
