After nearly seven years of hunting for shinies, I finally found and captured my first legit shiny EVER (except the red Gyarados). Wouldn't you know it? It's Geodude. :x

I've actually found a few random shinies heres a list
Leaf Green - Spearow - Haunter - Lapras
Ruby - Mudkip - Feebas
Sapphire - Torkoal
Emerald - Golbat - Trapinch
Diamond - Pachirisu - Gible

I think I caught my first one last year. So Cat, now you will have TWO shiny Golems!

It was a while ago in 3rd gen times...back when they had the toys R us Mew event. Yea, well I went to that, and traded a Spinda for my mew. A pokemon that I didn't care about. Well...I get home, and go to start playing with my new mew...and I find a frikin Shiny Spinda, I kid you not. It was hilarious.

Only one I ever found/caught. Course I don't have the mew or the spinda anymore, but let's not go into detail.

First legit one I ran into was a Tentacool on my Emerald. But, I gotta say...

a shiny Tentacool looks kinda boring.

I passed it up.

Next one I ran into was a shiny Spearow while training in LeafGreen. I caught THAT one because it looked badass.

Level 44 Shiny Meowth.

Only pokemon was level 96.

Had one POKEBALL.

Tossed it and prayed.


Squees were had.

I've never seen a shiny. My brother caught a shiny Zubat and a shiny Poochyena in Emerald within the same month. :x

I also got a shiny smoochum and magby in crystal

I have a shiny Geodude too!! (in Diamond)

I also have a shiny Golbat (Emerald, now a Crobat) and a shiny Onix (Diamond)!

I've been playing Pokemon for 9-10 yrs, and I caught my first shiny a few months ago. A shiny Budew.

LOL. The first pokemon I had was shiny and legit. But I didnt save and ran out of batteries. I have like 5 legit shiny pokemon now. I have never seen another shiny tododile though.....

my first legit shiny was a shiny Zigzagoon in Sapphire.
I started off trying to find a ralts (because i love Gardevoir) and all of a sudden a shiny Zigzagoon (level 3 i think) pops out, i was sooo happy when i caught it

My story (abridged version):
Playing Pearl, randomly training in Old Chateau, found a shiny Gastly, threw an Ultra Ball, caught it, squeals were had, and now I have a shiny Haunter in my main party named JPizzle.

huh legit Shiny? my first was like mtdhlite, a shiny Tentacool in Emerald but I caught mine and evolved it but yea its kinda boring the red spots are black and that's it. But it brought me luck, or rather a shiny Ralts. Blue haired Gardevoir's rock! (kinda odd that it's male though)

I've never seen a random shiny, in over 8000 combined defeats on my diamond and platinum, more counting generations 1, 2 & 3...

It took about 4 years for me...

I don't think I've ever caught a legit shiny... One of my brothers caught a shiny Wailmer on Sapphire version, and my other brother caught a shiny Oddish on his Ruby version.

Amazingly i got a shiny shinx in my friend's diamond but it was a fluke. I dont 100 0/0 understand how to use the pokeradar to get shinies. Help?

Well, there's a 1-2% chance of finding any shiny Pokémon at all.

My first ligit shiny was in Emerald. I caught a wild Shiny Claydol. With the moves Earthquake, Explosion, Psychic, Rock Slide.

My first shiny was a magikarp in pokemon silver. .-. Even though they already gave you a free red gyarados. =p

My other is my shiny weavile. =w=

I have a Shiny Machoke and a Shiny Lugia, on Pokemon Silver. To get Shiny Lugia, I kept confronting Lugia and reseting my Game Boy until it was a damn shiny!

the first shiny pokemon I ever saw was on crystal and was an oddish but I fainted it lol. The first legit shiny I ever caught was a shiny buizel caught at valley windworks.

Mine was Shiny Sharpedo.

I collect shinies, so I have several legit ones.

In my original Crystal version, I found and caught a shiny Goldeen and Furret, as well as getting a shiny Magby. Unfortunately, my friend "borrowed" my game and then lost it, so those have been lost forever. The only Generation II shiny I have now (save for the Gyaradoses, since those barely count) is a Vulpix on my Silver.

As for Gen IV, I have all these as shinies on Pearl:

The ones marked with (*) I got off the GTS, so I'm not sure of their legitimacy, but their stats look legal so I'm hopeful. I actually care enough about the Palkia to reset for another one in Platinum, just to be sure.
Also, a close friend of mine caught a Dialga by resetting in Diamond. I commend his patience.

I've only had 2 legit shinies:
Gold Magikarp (Now a Red Gyarados, which is pretty rubbish now that HG/SS are out. Yet is does say it's from Hoenn )
Gold Pidgeotto (Traded it to a friend for a level 90-something blissey, Max HP ev's)

Also, I'm one of those lucky lucky people to have the Poochyena that attacks Prof. Birch at the start of the game.

I've had a crazy amount of legit shinies, at least one for every game. Of the ones that I can remember, over the years I've had Hoothoot, Spearow (Kenya, though on ShinyGold), Magikarp, Marril, Geodude, Voltorb, Hypno (the one from Berry forest), Chinchou, Spinda, Electrike, Weedle, and I saw a shiny Skarmory. That's all I can remember at the moment, but I know I've had more. Let me remind you that I didn't use the Pokéradar or soft resets. These all occurred by chance.

I had a shiny Igglybuff in Pokemon Silver and a legit shiny Rotom in Diamond.
I found a shiny Geodude on Diamond once but it selfdestructed before I could catch it.
I also found a shint Golbat once on a friend's Silver but he told me not to catch it and I once found a shiny Kakuna on a Silver rom I was playing but I couldn't catch it because it was at the beginning, before I got Pokeballs.
