For me it was...I really don't remember.

Product as in anything with the Pokemon logo on it? If that is the case then my first Pokemon Red and Blue cartridges. If not, then I think it was one of my small Charizard plushes.

If the games counted, it would be both Red and Blue, which I got at the same time. If the games don't count, i would have absolutely no clue.

The first Pokemon collectibe I ever bought was a metal Pikachu keychain that I got at a rest stop in 1999 (actually, I think it may have been a necklace, I remember it came with a cord)....anyway, ten years later, it's still on my key ring! :25:

The first 'official' handbook that had them all listed by name and number was the first one for me. Which included Mew and Togepi in the book for some reason.

Yeah, someone was out of candy, so they were hand out Pokemon cards

That would probably be a good reason for playing the new costume trick (where you keep going to the same house with new costumes). "Oh man, a Caterpie..." *puts new costume one* "Yes! I got Blastoise!"

I remember someone doing that when I went trick-or-treating! (Happy Halloween!)
The fool was handing out some pretty rare cards (I got a Groudon ex! She didn't know a lot about Pokémon or cards!)

Technically the first pokemon product I owned was Pokemon Silver because I saw it when me and my mom were out and I begged her for it for like a half hour :3

But the first thing I EVER EVER had of pokemon was Pokemon Red, my dad got it from my cousin and gave it to my older sister. She played it but she didn't like it (She never saw the show and just didn't get it) But I was a HUGE fan.

I do remember having a Big pokemon Puzzle but I don't know when I got it. It could have been before the games since I got it from a store up the block from where I live, but it may not have been.

But besides games. It was the official Pokemon hand book from first gen. I looked through it like crazy when I was young. I was addicted to it. X3 I wish I still had it.

Does anyone know where I can buy another one online? T_T

That's easy for me to remember. I went through the Burger King drive-through, and got a kid's meal. Inside was one of those cheap Poke Balls that was recalled shortly afterwards, with a Golem spinny-top inside. I probably would still have it today with my rather large collection of Pokemon figures... but my friend's dog ate it. Which is scary, because that thing was big.
