Names: American: Braviary - Japanese: Wargle Can't say I'm too surprised. Seems to fit. American: Patrat - Japanese: Minezumi Patrat? More like Crackra- *shot* All jokes aside, I guess it works for a creepy meerhog-thing. American: Gothitelle - Japanese: Gonchiruzeru Not too different at all, so... American: Reuniclus - Japanese: Rankurusu It rolls off the tongue nicely. I like it. American: Cofagrigus - Japanese: Desukan WOAH, I DIDN"T SEE THIS COMING.[/sarcasm] American: Drilbur - Japanese: Mogurew A bit obvious, but it'll have to do. American: Axew - Japanese: Kibago <---Disappointed at the American name American: Woobat - Japanese: Koromori WOOOO! Not really. It's pretty generic, but I suppose it fits for a generic Pokemon. American: Musharna - Japanese: Musharna *no comment* Abilities: American: Overcoat - Japanese: Dust-Proof American: Sand Force - Japanese: Sand Power American: Sand Rush - Japanese: Sand Strength American: Mummy - Japanese: Mummy Not bad. They're pretty similar. Moves: American: Dual Chop - Japanese: Double Chop American: Heart Stamp - Japanese: Heart Stamp American: After You - Japanese: You First American: Sky Drop - Japanese: Free Fall Besides Sky Drop, I'm fine with these. Seriously, SKY DROP!? Characters: American: Fennel - Japanese: Mokomo I don't get it. ._. Source: Serebii |

I'll have to get used to the new names like before. I purposely didn't try to learn all the Japanese names because I would have had a harder time switching over.
Anyway, mostly good names. Some do sound a little silly, but basic names have always sounded silly.
Braviary is interesting, because an aviary is where birds are kept, not an actual bird.

Names:
American: Braviary - Japanese: Wargle Sounds good to me. American: Patrat - Japanese: Minezumi I don't like this name American: Gothitelle - Japanese: Gonchiruzeru Sounds as good as the Japanese name (and much less confusing). American: Reuniclus - Japanese: Rankurusu Great job on this one. American: Cofagrigus - Japanese: Desukan A bit complicated, but I still like it. American: Drilbur - Japanese: Mogurew It's kind of obvious, but it still sounds good. American: Axew - Japanese: Kibago Meh. I like Kibago better American: Woobat - Japanese: Koromori Doesn't this sound awfully like "Zubat"? American: Musharna - Japanese: Musharna I always liked this name, so I'm happy to find it as it is. Abilities: American: Overcoat - Japanese: Dust-Proof American: Sand Force - Japanese: Sand Power American: Sand Rush - Japanese: Sand Strength American: Mummy - Japanese: Mummy The English translations actually make more sense than the Japanese names, so I think they sound great. Moves: American: Dual Chop - Japanese: Double Chop American: Heart Stamp - Japanese: Heart Stamp American: After You - Japanese: You First American: Sky Drop - Japanese: Free Fall No problem with any of them. Characters: American: Blanca - Japanese: Bela American: Cheren - Japanese: Cheren American: Fennel - Japanese: Mokomo "Fennel" reminds me with "funnel", but it still doesn't sound bad. I have no problem with the others. |
