If you get the BSOD and then restart your computer, then get the BSOD again when you try to log on, then get it again, will Safe Mode even let it turn on? Because I think my computer is done. Which isn't a bad thing. Except all of the lost files and st00f if it never starts up again.

Depends on the problem. Just try booting in Safe Mode and see what happens. If the problem persists you can still can have a chance of saving your files since many versions of Linux can run right off a USB so you can use it to retrieve your files.

Your XP install disk should have a repair mode to fix the windows folder and that only. Most CDs for prebuild computers don't have this feature though.

Okay, well thanks guys. I don't have Linux so I can't do the USB thing. :u I'm assuming that I will finally have a new computer soon, though. Hopefully we can get the files, but if not I will only lose some music that is already on my MP3 anyway.

You know most versions of Linux are free to download right? Use this, it will let you boot Linux off a USB drive (and it will even give you the option to download whichever version of Linux you want). I'd recommend something simple like Ubuntu or Linux Mint.

I got a BSOD loop when I used to run Vista once.

I just put in the startup/repair disc, followed the directions, waited an hour or two, and it was fine.
