I was "inspired" (for lack of better word) today to make this tread after seeing all the stuff that goes on in my school and I want to know: Is your *points at the reader* school as bad as mine?

Let's compare:
(My school)
-A kid in my first hour threatened to jump my teacher to her face... and he wasn't being sarcastic.
-Half the school is populated with kids from the town next to mine, and that town has a reputation for being really bad with crime and gangs.
-Fights in my school are almost as common as getting homework.
-Half of the people in the school walk at snail's pace or will randomly stop in the middle of the hallway.
-There are police officers going to my school every day to make sure nothing bad happens (Fights, drug deals, etc.).
-Last year, there was four different fights going on during the day all at once... and it was gang related.
-The thing above cause the school to be in lock-down for almost an hour.
-There was a bomb threat last year, and there will most likely be one this year.
-I once heard rumors that the people who work at my school were planning on putting metal detectors in the school.
-My brother (who graduated two years ago) said the only thing keeping my school from Pontiac schools (Pontiac being the neighboring town with a bad reputation) are metal detectors.
-I heard about a fight that happened in my school that the assistant principal had to break up (The assist. principal has also had self-defense training classes apparently... I think it might have to do with my school).
-The fight stated above, one of the girls pulled out a shank.
-When my brother was in school, he saw a girl get jumped by four other girls.

Huh... I think that's it.
What do you people think? Bad school, right?

Well, I'm a Village person, so we don't get any gangs or fighting or stuff; the worst that happens is that all the Jocks treat the smart people like inferiors and talk to us like their students and the teachers don't really care unless it's completely obvious.

Well my school isn't that bad, but my old school we had many bomb threats and we were in lockdown for 3 hours once. I was alone in the library doing work I missed, fun, eh? Did I mention the kid who was rampaging had a knife and the master key? Yeah he came into the library, good thing I was hiding otherwise I probably would have been stabbed. Yay. X_X

Nooooo!, Lux you would've been KO'ed by a stabhappy kid with a master key!

but anyway we just had a lockdown today some kid came to school with a fricken 9mm in his back pack and I guess he pulled it out in class there was like 20 cop cars no lie! They were looking all over campus for the kid until he got tackled in the cafeteria by a fat cop.

I've honestly seen worse because my school is in the middle of gang territories. There have been two incidents this week, One incident was not gang related. Some kids and their "crew" were gonna jump some other kids and his "crew" so at lunch one of the guys bought out a shank but the cop stopped him. Earlier that day though they called that same cop because some girl was accused of having weed in her locker so if the cop hadn't come that guy would've got shanked.

(I mean, very rarely do fist fights even break out. More common at the Junior High, though)

I love how Mag was barely off in that assumption.

My school isn't nearly as bad as that, but there are still some things. One year, I think we had 3 bomb threats in the same year. Also, my freshman year, we had someone stab someone else, off school grounds, and the cops were at our school for like 2 weeks in the mornings. We've also had inside gun tips. Also, we do have fights, although I wouldn't say THAT often, but they're usually girls that fight, not guys.

I guess my school really isn't as bad as I thought at one point, aside from all the drug addicts it's not to bad. If it weren't for how crazy they acted I'd be very bored in school.

I know my local High School is known for being voilent even when I was in middle school we had ambulence come because two students came to school stoned. I know it's worse now toobut I just blame on how they have no after school activities.

Nope. Waterford.

All the stuff I mentioned is stuff that happens in school. Everything outside of it is pretty bad... druggies, drug dealers, alcoholics, smokers... and that is about 70% of the school's student population.

Well, there was a fight today and my teacher at that period helped break it up. My school's kind of bad, with random fights and stuff, but not as bad as some other schools i've heard of.

Even this school district isn't as bad as your school, at least we have a sense of honor at this area, But I like the idea of Metal Detectors and Maybe Police Checking the Backpacks and Purses before letting the students enter the buildings.

We don't have metal detectors at school but we do at football games, although there are a few cops at our school at lunch.

We got cops posted all over our school and I've seen at LEAST 4 cops with their K-9s posted around the school. They just stand their patrolling the area waiting for something to happen.

By reading what you guys posted, I find my school 'Heavens'. There is no way we can fight in our school, since if you fight, you will get suspended for 5 days. We do make pranks with each other and even with teachers, but to have knives and all those; nope. Once, a student in our class was smoking, and when they found out, he got immediately expelled. Our school is strict in applying rules. Nevertheless, I enjoy my school, everything except for homework.

Needless to say, he bought a knife to school the next day, took her hostage, and almost slit her throat. Good thing I was out sick that day (the news).

Funny thing is that the news channel didn't mention the part where the girl picked on him. I couldn't blame him. Maybe she should watch what she says from now on, huh? But in the end I guess my school isn't as nearly bad as others.

On top of that, we have no alcoholics, druggies or any other such people in school. Cops NEVER come around, as our school is extremely peaceful compared to all the schools mentioned over here. And someone almost stabbing you with a knife? I can't really imagine that... 0_0

If we fight in our school, we get suspended for 5 days up to 2 school weeks, but the only problem is all the kids that do fight don't really care. I blame the parents for a child's misbehavior - a parent is supposed to enforce rules on children, not "let it slide" if they get caught drinking alcohol.

My school isn't really that bad despite some people think our school is "ghetto" because a shootout happen in 1998 (there weren't any shooting ever since) and majority of the students are Afrian Amercian and Hispanic. We do have fights but it normaly about 2 girls fighting a boy. There was a fight 2 years ago when a girl got expelled for fighting another girl with a broken CD.

A rival school near us have some trouble with fights. The fights have gone so bad that they have to cancel the pep fest 3 years in the row. My sister's friend who go to that school said he never have a pep fest before and there was a girl who slapped a boy and he lift her up in the air and held her until the polices came.

I take an online course, so you can expect nothing bad happens there, but the local school I used to go to is fairly bad...

Bomb threats happen all the time, and occasionally a guy pulls out a pocketknife or something in class. I've heard once that there was a gun though... O_O

Also, at a school a couple of cities away, there were two suicide attempts, I think one of them was successful.

Neighborhood schools here in Singapore (low-end schools, mostly for people in gangs or people that just dont care about life) are like that.

We have fights, drug deals, even prostitution in some neighborhoods. We dont get bomb threats here in Singapore schools though.

Wow, never knew there were schools like these. o.o

My school's not very bad, and very rarely do I hear about fights. The only thing (And this isn't huge) is that roughly around... 80% of the people who play video games play the Xbox 360. This year there was an assembly about smoking and other drugs, and one person litterally said something like, "Instead of doing drugs you can play the Xbox 360 and have loads of fun with your friends!" Then I said to myself, "Sure, who needs drugs when you can get addicted to CoD instead?"

That and last year in 7th grade I picked a locker next to a bunch of CoD addicts...

Two things:
1. You misspelled "weed"
-and-
2. My rules are loosely enforced. Yes, they do get enforced, but the conditions are so bad, they are to make the punishments less severe. Getting into a fight = 2 weeks suspension as compared to being expelled (from what I've read). Although, I remember some kid in my grade got expelled for pulling a fire alarm.

EDIT: Although, at the same time, my rules are not loosely enforced. If you get caught with a pack of cigarettes - Teenager or adult - you get charged $20 a cigarette. Do the math - Pack of 20 cigarettes x $20 a cigarette = $400. And that is if you are an adult, if you are a minor, you will get charged with MIP (Minor In Possession if your scratching your head).
