I cant use mario paint (Cat, I followed the instructions, and it wont work...), so I use Notissimo 2, but whenever I try to record from speakers, no sound...
I use CamStudio to record, so 2 questions...

1) If anyone has camstudio and knows how to fix this, how?

2) does anyone have another free recording thing?

I haven't used CamStudio in a while, but if I remember correctly, when setting up compression options, there is an option somewhere that says, "Record Sound From Speakers." Hope this helps.

I think the problem might be the Sound Card...

The Error I always get is

"WaveoutGetSelectControl() Failed"

How do I download a new sound card?

A sound card is an internal computer component. You can try to download the latest drivers for it, though. Unfortunately, I don't know how as I've never had trouble with mine.

It is your sound card. Some sound cards, mostly those from Microsoft, do not have the ability to record stereo mix. Instead, try this simple solution:
  1. Purchase a 1/8" audio cable.[/*:m:s63ame3s]
  2. Connect one end into your Line Out or Headphones port.[/*:m:s63ame3s]
  3. Connect the other end into your Line In or Microphone port.[/*:m:s63ame3s]
  4. Adjust volume if necessary.[/*:m:s63ame3s]
  5. Select your recording device as either Line In or Microphone.[/*:m:s63ame3s]

That's actually really clever, so the microphone is the computer sound. This is great for screen recorders with no speaker support (Hypercam)
