"showing two balls, one gold and one silver"

Certainly sounds like a Gold/Silver remake!
I really hope so. I love my Gold and would love to see the thing re-made.

I CAN'T WAIT!
I HAVE READ THAT IT WOULD BE A GOLD + SILVER REMAKE OR A...
5TH GENERATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOTH WOULD BE GOOD BUT IT WILL MORE LIKELY BE A REMAKE!
LOOK AT ALL THE CLUES THEY HAVE HAD IN THE ANIME ALSO LOOK AT THE PATERN OF GAMES...

RED, BLUE, YELLOW

GOLD, SILVER, CRYSTAL

RUBY, SAPPHIRE, EMERALD

REMAKE! FIRERED, LEAFGREEN

DIAMOND, PEARL, PLATINUM

POSSIBLE REMAKE! DUSK GOLD AND DAWN SILVER!!!!?????????????!!!!

OR

POSSIBLE 5TH GENERATION!
Well... There is sort of a pattern they could release 5th Generation ---> 6th Generation Then The Remake to follow the pattern... but still! there are lots of clues like...
-The Johto Starters In The Upcoming Movie Featuring Arceus
-In The Tenth Episode In The Sinnoh Region WHen Dawn Gets Her Poketch Kris is on the cover of a magazine with a poketch!
-Almost all the main characters have pokemon from the johto region.
-Oak Refers to a similair white rock in the kanto region as the one seen on route 224 that could be found in a remake as In G/S/C you can go to Kanto!
Well There Are More But I WIll List Later On Cya For Now!

Imagine how good the final pokemon game would be... Imagine if you could travel to all regions including the orange islands!
Most Greatest and challenging Game ever Right... Hmmm... I SHould Make a topic about that i'll do that now!

Pokémon Sunday video get!

They show off the titles, Japanese release date, the starters, and show an entire 3 seconds of gameplay footage!

From those 3 seconds you can see that your starter follows you like Pikachu did in Yellow version.

I know. The DSi has a video recorder and the DS has a TV service. And they got Green, too.

They get the Nintendo stuff. Like, the PokeMon Center in Shibuya. And they get stuff earlier then us (reasonably, but not cool). They also have exclusive colors for systems. I could go on.

If Kanto is in this too, to me this is going to be the best Pokémon game EVER.

Except if they release some one with all the regions!

YES. Although a game with all four regions might cause every PokeMon fan's head's to cave in out of sheer excitement and thus would not be a good idea, it would be awesome.

Kanto has to be in it, otherwise I'm gonna throw bricks at the PokeMon Center in Japan.

A Feraligatr following you wherever would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. But having mah buddeh Blaziken follow me around would be WIN.

(and before anyone says something like "Then they would have to remove something so the game would fit into a DS card", the first motion sensetive controller was for the NES)

Maybe the first PokeMon in the party will follow you, although recording all 493 moving sprites will be difficult.

DATE CONFIRMED IN JAPAN AND US(?)

Joystiq said:
When Nintendo announced Pokémon Gold Heart and Soul Silver remakes, it was only a few days after that we caught a glimpse of some gameplay. Of course, the gameplay video didn't reveal anything on the game other than the ability to walk around, but the latest issue of CoroCoro (transcribed by the fine folks at GAF) in Japan thankfully tells us a bit more.

First of all, each title finally has a firm release date: September 11. On July 20, Japanese gamers will be able to preorder each game, which feature a few changes from the classics they are derived from. For one, you'll have the ability to choose between a female and male trainer now, and it's hinted that you'll even get to ride around on a skateboard. On top of that, your Pokegear seems to have received an update (including a camera), and a few familiar Pokemon (and places) have received a refresh, naturally. The games are even going to feature expanded Wi-Fi settings, building on what was established with Diamond and Pearl, and Platinum.

And all of you North American trainers, know that Nintendo is planning to bring both Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver your way. Sure, you probably had little doubt in your mind, considering how much Nintendo loves money, but just to help assuage any fears you may have, we present some US trademarks Nintendo filed, courtesy of Siliconera. Both Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver are listed, so turn your cap backwards and get ready to catch 'em all ... at an unconfirmed later date.

Some PokeMon are HUGE. Dialga's field sprite in DPP is waaay bigger than the one in Mystery Dungeon. They won't be able to fit in spaces. The starter will be the only one, probably.

Platinum came out in the US four months after it did in Japan.

Dude, my post already says that. I got it from a reliable source too. It's called Joystiq.

Shouting out to Cat: You can reserve it in July if you're gonna import again.

I don't need to import, man! I gots me a suit of advanced armor! I can translate the game with Windows XP! I'll just fly there and Satoshi Tajiri will be so impressed I'll get it for freeeeeee!

True. There's an image on Bulbapedia with a Pichu following Gold in the Ikei Forest.

Darkrai following me wherever I go would give me the creeps. First chance I get, I'm catching a Pikachu so it could be like old times.

If it is limited to only pokemon that fit, Id get something out of place like a garados or goldeen to fly/flop around behind me lol

I think the pichu is only following you because of the celebi event that takes place in ilex forest if you have the pikachu-colored pichu.

Got some more new information. Think back to the days of the original Gold/Silver. Remember that Pocket Pikachu? You know, it was like a virtual pet Pikachu and you could transfer items and stuff to your GBC. Well that is coming back as well under the name PokéWalk. It will supposedly come with the game when you buy it. You can transfer any Pokémon from your HeartGold/SoulSilver game onto it. It is like a pedometer so it counts how many steps you take. While you are walking with your Pokémon it can gain exp. and become more friendly with you. You can also play minigames on it as well.

I got some new info and, info about an event

A McDonalds promotion will take place in Japan from June 19th to July 17th in which customers can download a special Jirachi through Mystery Gift. As we already found out in the previous news story, the Jirachi will unlock something special in HeartGold and SoulSilver, rumored to be a hidden area called "Edge of the Night Sky."
Additionally, McDonalds will allow players to download some of the Pokemon toys from Melee! Pokemon Scramble to their DS, including Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Turtwig, Piplup, Chimchar, Garchomp, Pikachu, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres (all 1st and 4th generation Pokemon!). When they have collected all of the Pokemon, they can earn McDonalds coupons. Basically, the promotion is just a gimmicky advertisement for the game.

Hey Everyone, Its Your Most Favourite person In The World Bringing You The latest info and Scans from CoroCoro!

The full CoroCoro issue has been leaked onto the internet now three days early, below are scans from the Pokemon pages of the magazine.

New Information:
- All 493 Pokemon can follow you around, you can see Steelix and Wobbuffet following the trainers in the scans.

- You can interact with your Pokemon to see how they feel towards you like with Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow.

- The PokeDex, Computer Boxes and your bag have been given a totally new layout utilizing the touchscreen.

- You will be able to travel back to Kanto in HeartGold and SoulSilver and new exclusive locations have been added.

- You must have your "Pikachu Coloured Pichu" following you in Ilex forest to activate the Notched Eared Pichu event.

- Pre-order HeartGold and get a Ho-Oh figure, pre-order SoulSilver and get a Lugia figure, pre-order both and get both figures and an Arceus one.

- The Mc Donalds Jirachi is to be sent to Diamond, Pearl or Platinum first then transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver once released. It will be available in Japan from June 19th until July 17th.

-The Jirachi is Level 5 and knows Draco Meteor, Rest, Wish and Confusion and is holding a Liechi Berry.

- Kyogre appears in HeartGold whilst Groudon appears in SoulSilver, if you bring the two together in the same game then Rayquaza will also be unlocked.

- Cynthia appears in the remakes when the Arceus event is activated. Apparently transferring your Movie Arceus to HeartGold/SoulSilver will activate this event and in-turn allow you to capture your chose of either a Level 1 Dialga, Palkia or Giratina.

- A male and female Team Rocket member can be seen, they are presumably Rocket Grunts

Why doesn't Nintendo make games that can't be ARed anymore?

I have some insider's info! You may have heard me talk about the person who runs my local league in a few other topics. The guy's an Nintendo Official from Japan. Well, guess what? He's back! He has told me today that there has been an in-game character made to represent him in HG/SS. This character will be a heavy aspect of the Jirachi Event. He has also told me that you have to beat his character in order to make a wish with Jirachi. If you wish to catch it, it will be at LV1. He has said that he even had to provide voice over for his character! Could we finally hear actual speech in a Pokemon game for once?

Got some info and a video!

Today's broadcast of Pokémon Sunday gave a foretaste of the new info and images from Coro Coro to Pocket Monsters Gold Heart and Soul Silver.

At the end of the broadcast was indeed the presence of Team Rocket in Heart and Soul Gold Silver. To this end, there was a small video excerpt from the game where the player of a Team Rocket member is challenged to fight. Although it is short, but offers a nice preview of the game with moving images with background music.

In the preview of the broadcast will be news to many other HG / SS announced that next week it will be seen. Under "read more" you can find a video clip.

http://www.filb.de/1080
Above is the link to the video and text text above the link is a translation of what it says about the video (NOT WHAT THEY SAY IN THE VIDEO!)

Just Got Lots More Info!

Pokemon Following You (Partner Pokemon):
In Pokémon Yellow, a new feature was introduced which had your starter Pokémon, Pikachu, follow you around. Pikachu was always behind you and you could always check it to see its happiness. This feature later returned in Amity Square in Diamond, Pearl & Platinum, with a limit to 20 Pokémon. In Heart Gold & Soul Silver, you once again get a partner Pokémon. However, it is not limited to your starter Pokémon.
In Heart Gold & Soul Silver, as soon as you get your Pokémon, Professor Elm will say that your Pokémon can come out and walk along with you. Originally, this would seem to follow the precedent set with Pokémon Yellow, however every single Pokémon can be sent out to follow you. From Bulbasaur to Arceus, you can have any of your favourites follow you. To do this, all it seems you need to do is have the Pokémon at the top of your team and it shall be sent out.
Interaction
Like with Pikachu in Pokémon Yellow, you have the ability to interact with your Pokémon. If you turn around and face your Pokémon, simply press A and you will get to see the mood of your Pokémon. Whether it's happy with you, apathetic or is in trouble due to low health or a status condition. This will allow you to be able to quickly guage how your Pokémon is doing.
Items
As with when you take your Pokémon out for a stroll in Amity Square in Diamond, Pearl & Platinum, when you are out with your Pokémon in this game, your Pokémon will sometimes find items. These items include Berries and Accessories for your Pokémon. It is unknown if there's just a set list for the Pokémon to get or if each Pokémon has a unique list of obtainable accessories.

Notched Ear Pichu:
Like Pokémon Platinum, Heart Gold & Soul Silver have got special details implemented within the game if you
send certain Pokémon over.. In Platinum, this allowed for new forms and capturing of certain Pokémon.
However, Heart Gold & Soul Silver have got a slightly different take on this.
If you send over the special Pikachu Coloured Pichu obtained from the special 12th movie event given
away from June 19th to July 18th, a special event will activate. This event takes place in Ilex Forest.
When you go by Celebi's Shrine in Ilex Forest when you have the Pikachu Coloured Pichu in your party,
a Notched-Ear Pichu will appear.
The full details of this event are still unknown, but it is confirmed that you get the Notched Ear Pichu to join
your team. It is unknown what is special about the Notched Ear Pichu or if you can get it any other

In Game Arceus Event (Dialga/Palkia/Giratina)
Like Pokémon Platinum, Heart Gold & Soul Silver have special details implemented within the game if you
send certain Pokémon over. With this Pokémon, the Movie 12 Arceus (and other subsequent Arceus from
various events around the world), you get new aspects in both Platinum and Heart Gold & Soul Silver.
The special feature in this game for Arceus is much more elaborate than the Platinum one.

If you trade Arceus over to Heart Gold & Soul Silver from Diamond, Pearl or Platinum and take the Arceus
with you to a specific place, to be confirmed later, you will meet up with Cynthia, the former Champion of
the Sinnoh Region. She will explain that Arceus has the ability to create newborn Pokémon.
Out of the three possibilities, you only have the option of getting one so you have to choose wisely.
They are all at Level 1 so it is a truely personal preference based decision.

Dialga Palkia Giratina

Lv. 1 Lv. 1 Lv. 1

The different Pichus are special shiny sprites with Volt Tackle. The regular shiny sprite for the Pichu family is...Red, I think. Or a deep orange. But the Pikachu colored Pichu has a different shiny color, and the notch-eared Pichu has a sprite resembling a movie Pichu.

Volt Tackle is the Pichu family's signature move. It is extremely hard to teach because you have to breed two Pikachu with a special item only found on wild Pikachu, and incredibly rarely at that.

Pokemon Platinum was released on the 13th of september 2008 in Japan and Then March 22nd In America, So I Guess That America Will See Heart Gold And Soul Silver Sometime In
Late March -> Mid->Late April
Around That Time For The US But We WIll Never Know Till Its Officially Announced.

The original Pokemon Gold and Silver where released in Japan on November 21 1999.

POSSIBLE RELEASE DATE: HEARTGOLD AND SOULSILVER IN THE US/EUROPE

Okay, this might be hard to belive, but JUST WATCH the video, please?

The video basically says, the PAL release date is Noel 2009, Noel meaning Christmas. It also explains that Amazon.com has an English release date for HGSS, being Dec. 31, 2009 (One day after my birthday.)

Personally, one of the release dates has to be fake, in my opinion. It's just YOUR choice to decide which one is. I would think the PAL date is wrong, because European territories almost never get major releases before the Americas do. There are a few exceptions, one of which really makes me mad, but if you look at what happened with Platinum, and compare it to what's going on NOW, it wouldn't make sense.

So, do you think the release dates are fake? If so, for which region? If BOTH, then we gotta quickly find out the real release date, 'cuz I'm pretty stoked for what my new birthday present is gonna be.

I don't know, it might be possible. I just find it odd that the US release would be on literally the last day of the year. You would think it would be released earlier so that sales would go sky-high due to the holiday season. There is also the possibility that Amazon is just using that date as a placeholder, but anything is possible. I would love to get the game this year because I am very anxious to get it. And if it doesn't come out, no big deal and 3 's Inside Story will keep me occupied.

Enough rumors! It's due in spring 2010.

http://www.pokemon.com/#heartgoldsoulsilver

It looks like this trailer was actually released early, as the game text is still in Japanese, but the voiceover, new logos, and "SPRING 2010" and in English. In fact, the trailer itself is very similar to the Japanese one.

I apologize for the necrobump but news is news.

Nov. 09's Nintendo Power featured Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver in a small blurb.

...That's all. It didn't say anything half the world doesn't already know. Release is set for next spring, new graphics, touchscreen, yadda yadda yadda, etc.

At least you know once it hits paper, everyone finally knows about it (or something).

I just wish Nintendo would stop acting like it's the 1980's. The Internet lets anyone know instantly of any news revealed in Japan. Even if US players still get the games a bit later than Japan, why can't they still just show us the videos and pictures at the same time? By the time they do reveal the news outside of Japan, sites state "Nintendo of America finally acknowledges..." instead of "Nintendo of America reveals..."; it's just silly in my opinion.

I say they should make the game, translate it for all countries, sort out the legal stuff, and the reveal it to every country at the same time, with the same release date. That would certainly help us here in UK, I can't stand waiting over half a year for a game while I know that there are people that have completed it and are now bored with it. Oh well, at least DS games aren't region locked, the only problem importing is that I don't speak Japanese.

And then, when it's released in America, I'll be even more annoyed, 'cause even though it's translated to a language everyone here speaks, they STILL don't release it for a few more months! And by that time, there'll be people in Japan with their fancy new Celebi's, and I'll still be running around in Platinum!
