Oh Gaea...

We already learned our lesson from "Refining" genetics from Mewtwo. Do you honestly want to replicate those results?

Just... No... Please no.

How so?

Come on, guys, use your imagination! How bad could it be?

It could be terrible. It would be terrible, IF it were to happen.

This isn't Monster Rancher. Leave splicing monsters together to Tecmo.

And stupid fanfics. Those too.

Pff. You guys have no Imagination. I don't see how bad combining certain Pokemon can be. I'm not saying that everything'll be compatible with each other. Just fusions of a few, like Groudon and Kyogre, or Cresslia and Darkrai, or Pinser and Heracross. Not completely random stuff like Igglybuff and Rayquaza. That would be terrible.

What's the point of it? What's the selling point?

I'd rather have an MP3 player capable of playing music stored on an SD card than being able to "Polymerize" Pokemon. This isn't Digimon, or Yu-Gi-Oh.

We already have multiple Pokemon that combine into one. Aren't you happy with that?

What are you talking about?

Multiple Magnemite make up one Magneton. Multiple Koffing make Wheezing. Heck, when a Slowpoke gets a Shellder on it's tail, they turn into a Slobro collectively.

...so? What's wrong with more? Give me all the details. I won't put up with bull.

You want me to actually give you reasons why this whole Polymerization is a bad idea?

First off, no. Many Pokemon don't need to be "better" than what they are. Type matchups would be impossible to determine, you're also talking about writing in thousands of new sprites into coding to consider each matchup and color pattern, as well as merging movesets, deleting certain moves and creating others. All data that could be used to, I don't know, make the game better and not worse?

Other issues persist, such as breeding problems, incompatible type moves, and other factors like mixing two Pokemon of opposing types with movesets they shouldn't be able to use.

On top of that, you're looking at making the game waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much like Yu-Gi-Oh or Monster Rancher. Pokemon doesn't need to "combine" Pokemon like Zords or some crap to make it palatable.

This is precisely the reason children aren't taken seriously in the development of multi-billion-dollar products. They have little to no usable input. "Oh oh I want Mario to be a Pokeman! That would be kawaiiiiiiiiii! ^_____^"

No.

Just.

No.

Please.

Don't.

Just.

Just no.

The coolness wouldn't justify the inconveniences, like Thomas said.

I dig fusion sprites, though.

To be honest they don't look really good. And it wouldn't be good if it would be inserted into B/W because it doesn't have much creativity too it. Also, the fans won't be happy if they've just fusioned 2 old pokemon to make one terrible pokemon.

I respect your imagination, but this will never happen in Pokémon for one simple reason; Pokémon is for everyone. If this fusion occurs, then kids won't be able to understand much. Honestly, even a 15 years old boy like me will find it really complicated and hard to fill up a Pokédex which has got numerous amount of fused Pokémon. In any game, even if it continues to expand and go to several generations, there are some basics hat will never change. To have a simple genetic Pokémon that can evolve is one of these basics.
Regarding the fanart, I would advice you t use better graphics if you want people to think twice about your idea, as from the pictures you have posted, people are getting freaked out.

I never said all pokemon are compatible. Only a select few. You know, ones that would actually work. Like, how about just the starters? Each starter would only be able to fuse with the two other starters. Like Typhlosion and Meganium: Megosion. Type: Fire/Grass, It would make for a good strategy, since it's big moveset would be Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Flamethrower, and Synthesis. Or Blastoise and Raichu: Raitoise, Type: Electric/Water, Moves, Rain dance, Thunder, Surf, and... something else. Hey, Look at Digimon, for example. Only a few Digimon could fuse. Exveemon and, that other guy fused into, uh... Beedramon, was one of them. And he was awesome. Think about it.

It could be an interesting way of getting one particular Pokémon species: make it so that you have to breed two specific species. I don't like the idea of numerous fusions, though, because it takes away that distinct feel in Pokémon of mastering all of the different species in each region. If people can make up new ones all the time, what's the point?

Side note: That male Buneary evo reminded me of the crazed mimigas from Cave Story for some reason.
