I just put an SD card, in, and I restarted my computer so that it would read it, and when my computer started up, it said this right after the black loading screen with green bars:
Checking file system on F:
The type of the file system is FAT.
One of your disks needs to be checked for consistency. You
may cancel the disk check, but it is strongly recommended
that you continue.
Windows will now check the disk.
Volume Serial Number is 6133-3233
Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.
1015283712 bytes total disk space.
147456 bytes in 9 folders.
1014808576 bytes in 28 files.
327680 bytes available on disk.
16384 bytes in each allocation unit.
61968 total allocation units on disk.
20 allocation units available on disk.
my SD card is fat? What does that mean?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_Allocation_Table
That's what that means.
It means windows found something either suspicious or wrong with the file structure of your SD card. This is an entirely benign issue usually and windows will warn you if a card needs to be checked for errors even as soon as you put it in. Windows will always perform such checks before fully booting if there is one inserted on startup. The most common cause for this is either the FAT filesystem itself, which is prone to crosslinked sectors, or improper removal of the SD card, such as removing it without clicking Safely Remove in the tray or during a write.
