I've seen many name wasters on YouTube, they choose usernames that are in the dictionary and create a account that has no videos. Some channel comments on name wasters are very funny, look at this: http://youtube.com/yousuck and http://youtube.com/windowsvista
Some name wasters accounts are deleted, I really want to see the channel http://youtube.com/copyright got trolled so much.

Yeah, I want to know why people register names and never use them.

They wanted to be cool. Having a good name is cool.
Name wasters can be funny, just read the channel comments.

I wanted a few of some of the good ones. They also tend to take random strings of numbers. Almost every 5-digit number is taken.

Maybe you should be one of the first people to a "new" site and you can take "pokemon"!

I like how half of them have comments like "OMG NAME WASTER!!!!!111" even though the person who owns the account actually uses it.

I noticed that many of the official channels have a word on the end of the company name. For example, WindowsVideos is the official Windows channel. The Obama channel is barackobamadotcom and the McCain channel is johnmccaindotcom.

But sometimes the company is lucky enough to actually get their trademark channel. Wii is the official Wii channel.

But sometimes, official channels are harder to find and might be more ad-directed. ExperienceWii and ExperienceNintendoDS are two examples, being (awesome) ads for WarioWare: Shake It! and Pokémon Platinum, respectively.
