Over this weekend while I was playing Diamond, I found Giratina randomly. I wasn't really prepared for battling it because I had weak pokemon but I tried it anyway. I used my torterra and Giratina's health was at red. So I used a great ball(by accident) then I used a ultra ball and I CAUGHT IT! I only used 2 pokeballs on it. I was really surprised and thought it was too easy. I also remembered that I caught Uxie, Azelf, and Dialga really fast too.

So am I really lucky? Or does the legendary pokemon in Diamond and pearl really easy to get? Because I had a hard time catching them in Heartgold.

DPPt's legendaries have surprisingly low catch rates, actually. Chalk it up to a bit of good luck.

I personally think this is a fine topic. Though, to reply specifically to it: Dialga and Palkia have a catch rate of 25, much higher than all legends to come before it. All other legendaries in D/P/P have a catch rate of 3, the lowest catch rate and standard for all legendaries (with a few rare exceptions).
