Well I was wondering if anyone here, collects the cards, watches the anime AND plays the games. I do and I almost always have. I really love all three of them and sometimes wonder things like, "Why don't you collect the cards? Its fun!" So does anyone here watch, play AND collect?
I play the game, watch the anime, and collect the cards. Not to mention I also collect other Pokemon merchandise. I still have all of the cassette tapes of the Kanto Region... including the Orange Islands. And I have all the DVD's of the whole entire Johto Series. All of them work which surprises me. Especially the cassette tapes.
I save a lot of my money and then when I get a good amount of money for helping a neighbor move or helping mow the lawn etc... I use that to spend but save the money I get from working. Yeah, save the big bucks, spend the little. xD...
I just realized I have a Charmander, Squirtle, Pikachu and Bulbasaur figurines as well.
I have a couple binders worth of old cards, but I don't play it(though I had the TCG PC & GB games at one point). As for the anime, If it's randomly on CN when I get home I might just leave it on(I remember one where they were in a sewer and Ash KO'd a wild Swampert w/o catching it...IDIOT!!) But I do play the games and buy 'em on release date.
I wish Comcast didn't hate everyone.
I watched the anime in the first generation but after that I kind of lost interest in Pokémon (though my cousin had Crystal and I thought it was super radcore). Late in the third I started watching the anime again, and I saw the very beginning of Diamond and Pearl but after that Cartoon Network went to digital-only. :/ Again, if I had people with whom to play it I would play the card game, but I don't, so I really only play the games.
Yes! Comcast ruined my life! My parents need to hurry and either get Comcast or Verizon Fios. I need my television shows. The only good show I can watch now is "That 70's Show" so I don't even really get to watch the anime anymore. I probably missed a good amount of new episodes. Someone tell me, how many badges does Ash even have now?
I'd like to say all three, but it would be way to expensive to collect the cards...though I do have a few and I always look at them in the stores, I really don't collect much of anything these days, so just the games and the anime...though I started playing the games a few years later, I've been watching the anime since almost day one...I've watched Ash grow up and am always so impressed by the young man he's become
I've been collecting the cards and watching the anime since before I started playing the games. I was a crazy nut with watching them early on, but around when Hoenn started, I quit caring about the anime and just taped it without watching. The same was true with the cards. I collected like crazy until around the third Hoenn set. I still played the games, but I moved over to Mario for much of 2004 through 2006.
For Christmas 2006, I received hundreds
of trading cards, causing me to jump back into collecting them. I caught on the anime again, as well. Nowadays, though, I...am still obsessed with the games and cards! However, I don't follow the anime or even tape them on TV anymore unless I get forewarned there will be one of my favorites in it. I just wait for the DVDs and sometimes the marathons.
Just the game~! =p
As a competetive player, the anime trainers seem to know nothing about battles, and the storyline of every episode is "meet new person, help new person, OH SHI TEAM ROCKET BLASTING OFF AGAIN" If they had like, a better plot I might watch it though. =w=
Oh~! And I have a few cards of floatzels and buizels, but I don't collect em. Just zel zel cards. And maybe if I find a weavile card i'll nab it~!
Heh, the funny thing about this is:
I used to do all three when I was a kid.
Then there was that point in my life where I didn't like Pokemon... lost my cards then.
Got back to playing Pokemon. Never watched the anime though.
And I just recently started collecting cards again. One of them being a shiny card Granbull.
