what videogame do you guys feel is overated? I feel COD Modern Warfare is overrated everyone plays it. And some people take it so seriously.n_n

Yeah PMD and Halo are pretty overrated too.
I have to say...Assassin's Creed is overrated as well.

The Legend of Zelda, and Mother are somewhat overrated. Don't get me wrong, I love both of those games, but I think that they are slightly overrated.

I have two in my mind:
1.CoD:MW
2.Legend of Zelda

I don't think there are any overrated games. I have played some popular ones and I enjoyed them. There are definitely a lot of underrated ones out there, though.

I'll have to say World of Warcraft. I tried playing it, got to level 15 (on both Tauren and Gnome) and it just got REALLY boring. Maybe it's just not my type of game.

This is where the fine line between "bad games" and "overrated games" is treaded upon.

Call of Duty as a series is an exceptionally well-made FPS game, with superb online play and a not-too-shabby single player mode. However, the series itself is overhyped, maybe too much for its own good. A lot of games do the job it does/tries to do, and in some player's opinions, they might do the job better.

To say Mother is overrated is a bit of an exaggeration. Mother and Earthbound are a cult hit, if anything. Not many people played them, but the people that were fortunate enough to get their hands on it fell in love with it. Me, I have an SNES emulator on my computer just so I can play Earthbound, and from what little I've played (they thought it was smart to up the difficulty if you're playing a pirated Mother game) it's a well-written plot with popculture satire and bits of drama peppered throughout.

The Fushigi no Dungeon games are just... god. Yes, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is seriously overrated. I also think people misunderstand that PMD is actually part of the Fushigi no Dungeon dungeon-crawler RPG series.

I just hate almost everything about Halo. It's a stripped-down Metroid franchise. The only thing original tacked onto it is online play.

World of Warcraft? Of course WoW is going to get bad flack, it's quite literally (and arguably) one of the most popular MMOs in existance. I haven't played it though, so I can't comment on it as a game.

Super Mario Galaxy deserves to be overrated... I guess. The graphics are amazing, the classic platforming style of Mario games hasn't lost its beat, and the new gimmicks thrown in make it one of the best games I've played. Oh, and the soundtrack isn't all that bad either.

Legend of Zelda is another one of those games that deserves all the positive feedback it recieves. It literally defined the 3-D adventure genre for the entire industry. Not exactly a secret to everyone, is it?

The two that I wholeheartedly agree with (apart from the arguments I gave above) would be Assasin's Creed and Kingdom Hearts. Assasin's Creed reminds me very much of Prince of Persia, a similar series (which I also really don't like as a whole) and KH has slowly derailed from the "Cool Disney game with Final Fantasy-based characters" to a "Different titled Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles game with some random cameo from Mickey Mouse".

I know people on this forum are (mostly) mature. So, not trying to start a flamewar but...

In KH's defense, that was just 2. plus, what's the big deal with it being that way? I like KH2 not because it had more Final Fantasy stuff, but because it was fun, and improved on some things that should've been in KH1(△ is used a 'lil too much though =/ )
Also, have you played 358/2 Days or seen BbS? Those games are largely based on the new characters, and there's like no FF guys anywhere, and they only go to Disney worlds. =l
