The sixth alpha of Crystal Island's PokéDex has been released with numerous improvements, new dexes, and general coolness.
New Features:
- Item Dex - Displays key information on all items, the item's description, and its flavor text.
- Ability Dex - Displays the description of each ability and its flavor text.
- Nature Dex - Displays each nature's improved and decreased stats.
- IV Calculator - Allows you to calculate a Pokémon's IVs.
- EV Calculator - Allows you to calculate a Pokémon's EVs.
Layout Improvements:
- Pokémon images are used for compatible Pokémon instead of their names.
- Type images are displayed for move listings.
- Games are shorthanded with icons (looks much better).
- Pokémon sprites are hidden by default. You can show these and your preference will be remembered until you close your browser.
- Search is simplified to show the most relevant information and not overdo it.
Bug Fixes:
- Evolutions will display properly for second and third stage Pokémon.
- Cries work in Internet Explorer 9+, Safari 4+, Chrome 3+, Firefox 3.5+, and Opera 10.50+ without Flash, and all browsers with Flash.
- Type advantage table displays properly.
Finally, you MUST append /pokemon/ to use the shorthand structure. Although the dex was originally created so that /dex/Pikachu would work, it has caused to many problems since. For transition, numbers can still be used, but too may be removed.
The next release will be Beta 1. This will stabilize many things, improve the layout a bunch, improve the two calculators, add some new calculators, and hopefully add more information to the Nature Dex. We hope to release the final PokéDex in early June, but I want to also do some work on Crystal Anime and the news aggregator in the mean time.
