OooOh the first time I got the red ring was because the video cable thing wasn't plugged in the back all the way. A few months later though my games started freezing after about a minute or less of game play and the ring showed up again each time
luckily my 360 was also still under warranty so we sent it to Microsoft, waited some couple months, and got it back fixed with another one of those "free 1 month gold subscription" cards lol. They didn't say what the issue was but apparently the red ring can be also be caused by overheating so try keeping your Xbox out of small areas and off the carpet when playing. I doubt that's the only issue though because the ring lights with up a different number of lights depending on what it thinks the problem is 0.0; and for the scratched disk issue... http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/news/Xbox ... atched.htm (my Xbox scratched one of my disks once too but I can't remember if I had switched the position or not o.o)
