Lite: "So, you're putting out preorders for the DSi XL already?"

GameStop Employee: "Yep, they'll be here the 28th."

Lite: "Cool.

...Wait, this 28th? March?"

Employee: "Yep. March 28th."

I got this little bit of info while heading for my event Jirachi today.

I know only about 5 of you are actually interested in this baby, but I know I'm picking one up at launch. It's going for $189.99. At $190, this thing is going for 10-30$ less than the expected asking price, it's 20$ more than the current DSi.

GameStop will allow you to swap in your DSi and buy your XL for 99$, or trade in a DS Lite and get it for 130$.

So, all in all, it's not as overpriced as expected, and I'll be sure to buy my own and show you guys in an unboxing video.

Good god that seems like alot of green. I'm not going to go on a naive ramble on how all of the DS's are the same, since I know you hate that and I don't know as much on the subject. For my sake, would you say what the difference is between the DSi and DSi XL (Deka is cooler) and the normal DSi besides the size?

The DSi XL/LL/Deka includes a larger battery to go along with its size. As such, battery life is extended some. It also comes preinstalled with some DSiWare. Out of the box, it comes with two different stylii (plural for stylus). One stylus is a normal one, more like the ones made for the DS Lite/DSi, and the other stylus is a pen-like stylus that does not clip onto the DSi XL like the first one. The DSi XL is also made with a gloss shell, unlike the matte shell of the DSi.

By the way, I just put down 25$ at GameStop for my burgendy DSi XL. Today was the cutoff for preorders since it comes out in two weeks.
