In lieu of some problems with the recent Wordpress installation, I have for the past several days been working on Crystal Anime 2.0, a new viewer for the data that integrates everything with Crystal Islands. This does not use Wordpress (though does use the database), and will require a share of cleanup. However, the basic viewer has been completed and is working nicely.

In addition, I will be releasing the source code under GPLv3 when I'm done. This may take a while, as per the completion log:

A1: Category Support, Post Support
A2: Edit Post Support, New Post Support, New Category Support
A3: User Account Support, Log-in Viewer
A4: Delete Post Support, Delete Category Support, Edit Category Support
B1: Security Improvements, Clean-up Code, Better Document
Final: Release Source Code

The current alpha can be found at http://www.crystal-islands.com/animetest.php. This is neither finished nor entirely stable, but is worth checking out (and hacking if you're bored - just report bugs to me).

The menu of animés has strange entries, such as '.hack', 'adventures', 'Animals', 'cats', 'episode 6' and so on. These have to be removed.

Didn't find anything else at the moment.

Indeed, there is still a lot of clean-up.

I suggest using cutenews for your news system. Whatever is easier for you.

Cute news is arguable crap. The code is untidy, hard to read, poorly documented, and generally unstable (and somewhat insecure). The license is proprietary.

I actually want to in time replace the default news system (that is Cute News) with the new software. It will take a while to finish it, though.
