Anyone got one/ ever played one?

I personally have never played one, but I think the styling of the Mark I is seriously cool! Especially comparatively to other consoles of the time.

I'd love to own one sometime, I think It'd be a blast. But they're (Especially Mark 1s) incredibly hard to get a hold of these days...

Also, opinions on the console?

The Sega equivalent of the NES was the Master System. The Sega SG-1000 is equivalent to the old Atari 2600.

Well, thats arguable. Really, the Master System was the SG-1000 Mark III. So in a way the SG-1000 was the Sega equivilant of the NES.
Also, the graphics of the SG are much closer to those of the NES than those of the 2600.

EDIT: For the interests of comparison, I've quickly put together a picture of the Mark I, II and Master System. Its quite big, so I'll put it under spoiler tags.

Spoiler Alert:

I have never played one, but it would be really cool to get one or even just to play on it.

I've never even heard of it, but it does look cool. What kind of games were on it?

Oh, all sorts. Obviously, it didnt have quite as large, or infact even anywhere close to as large, library of games as the NES. But there's still a good variety.
There's arcade style platformers, shooting and action games, racing games, sports games and more. Many of the games were originally arcade games, ported to the console.

Heres a breif games list to check out if your interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categor..._SG-1000_games
