It has come to my attention that there have been an excessive number of locked topics. Please do not lock topics if active discussion is still running! I have received complaints about peoples' topics being locked for pointless reasons, such as stating the original question has been answered. Well, even if that may be, new questions may have developed related to the original question. Being off-topic a little bit is allowable, especially if healthy discussion is running.

What SHOULD be locked:
- Things clearly outdated, like rule setup topics for tournaments.
- Bumped up old (prior to a month) introductions topics (unless bumped by the original author).
- Flame wars.
- Games that have finished/have been won (Name all 493 Pokémon, Count to 1000, Last one left wins, etc.).
- Duplicate topics (WITH A CLEAR LINK TO THE TOPIC IT IS IDENTICAL TO).

What SHOULD NOT be locked:
- Healthy discussion that is related to the original topic. For example, discussion on probable release dates when the original topic was the announcement of the game.
- Anything that is still on-topic.
- Topics you don't agree with. (Instead, don't visit it.)
- Active critique.

If you have been locking topics, I would like you to go around the forum and re-open any topics that you locked that are still relevant. You may also want to post that you re-opened it.

Examples of bad locking:
- Where is the new topic? Be sure to post links! AND GUESS WHAT?! THE OTHER TOPIC IS ALSO LOCKED. Or is that not the same topic? What board is it on? - FIXED
- No explanation as to why it was locked. Looks like a very relevant discussion to me and I don't see another one in plain sight. - MISUNDERSTANDING
- Why is it pointless? Looks valid to me. - FIXED

Exampls of good locking:
- There is a link to an active discussion.
- Old tournament check-in topic, not necessary anymore.
- Introduction topic bumped three years after its relevance expired.

I locked my thread which reminds us of the Pikachu-coloured Pichu event because really, it's just a reminder, and it wasn't meant to be a discussion.
However, I re-opened this thread.

^This is the only thread which I locked without a good reason. Apologies for that.

Well, I don't lock topics except for mine which are trade-threads that I don't need them anymore. Anyway, these rules will be in mind.

Well, I know I am not staff. But there's one think I want to say.

I would like my 'What Are You Eating or What Did You Eat Today?' thread to be moved back to General Chat instead of /b/uziel unless someone can give me a valid reason for it being in /b/uziel. It's not getting very many posts over there.

I'd also like to know who moved it.

While I didn't move it, I would guess it was moved because people would constantly spam it with every single thing they ate and so it was moved so their post count doesn't go up.

I moved it with permission from Cat. Yoshi's reason above is basically why.

You can put it in /b/uziel if it gets out of control, but it looks fine for now. People are posting every food they ate during the whole day, not just one at a time.
