What great video game deals have you gotten, be it new games or used games?

I got "Super Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars" for only $35. Fantastic deal, considering that it is one of the most rare Super Nintendo games and it usually goes for more then $60 on eBay. (I'm also interested in trading this for Earthbound, please PM me if you're interested.)

This is off-topic, but for a second, upon seeing this topic I thought you were advertising an auction on eBay or something..

Ooh, a finds thread. I usually visit a thrift store every week/every other week and I come across some interesting things. I'm not gonna list everything but here are some of my more interesting finds:

Donkey Kong 64 - $1
Donkey Kong Country - $2
Various NES games (Mario Brothers, ExciteBike) - $1-$3 each
Many Atari 2600 games - 50 cents each
Original GameBoy - $3
GameBoy Advance - $5
GameBoy Color with Pokemon Gold that still saved - $5 (later resold Gold to Cat)
GameBoy e-Reader - $1
GameCube system - $5
Nintendo DS Action Replay (new in package) - $5
NES with all hookups - $10
PS2 with all hookups and memory card - $30
SNES system - $5
TurboGrafx16 system - 99 cents

An old LEGO set from 1973 in mint condition with instructions - 25 cents

And my Pokémon/video game plushy collection (about 50 plushes) all came from thrift stores. They were generally 25-50 cents for the smaller/medium ones and $1 for large ones. Some of my favorites are my three large Charmanders, this really large Psyduck (it's like 2 feet tall!), a small Bowser that roars when you squeeze it, and a small Squirtle money pouch that came with candy(.....with the 10 year old candy still in it). I also pick up many video game figurines. One of my favorite finds was this: Remember those older Burger King Pokémon toys (you know, the ones with the recalled balls)? I kid you not, I found about 40-50 of them still in their packaging for 25 cents each. And I bought them all I kept about half and Cat got the other half. I also one found 2 of the older Super Mario Brothers 3 McDonald toys.

And I come across random Pokémon items that I sometimes resell to Cat since he is more nuts for Pokémon then I (and I make profits )

There are many more things I found, but I don't have all day to list them all.

Just go to Steam. You'll see a crapload of bargains there.

Yeah, saw those Steam deals.

I love Steam. You can pay $10 for a PC game that would cost $50 on the Xbox 360.

There's a great store called Cex, and they sell pre-owned games really cheap. Banjo-Kazooie N&B and Guitar Hero Aerosmith - £18 for both! Guitar Hero WT and Rock Band 2 for £26 (RB2 in GameStation was £60, in Cex it was £14). Unfortunately they don't do retro anymore, but GameStation had loads of rare MS-DOS games for 50p to £3! Gamestation class GameCubes as retro, but you could get one for £15 (I got mine for £100 bundled with Pokémon Colosseum + Box).

Most rare DOS games are abandonware and you can get them legally for free...
