This isn't an official date but an estimate so don't yell around, however, it is precise and most probably, it is going to be the true date.
I have been checking Nintendo and found the following:
There is a game going to be released on the 16th of February and another game at the 23rd of March. Between the two games, they actually put Pokemon HG/SS with no specific date, giving us an approximate day of between 16th Feb and 23rd Mar.

On another note, I have been checking Amazon which put that the release date is 14th of March. Also, it sent an e-mail to all the ones who pre-ordered the games that the shipping will start at either the 14th of March or the 16th of this month giving us two dates for the release of the games; 14th or 16th of March.

Just to mention that if the release of the games is going to be on the 14th of March, then Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold and SoulSilver are all released on Sunday.
